The DT 150 first appeared on our recommended list for Closed Back Headphones from September 2017 until January 2021 when it had been out-ranked by other sets of headphones.

Then in January 2022 it had high enough ratings to go back on the list where it was ranked equal #1 and where it remains today.

It was also on our recommended list for Studio Headphones from February 2018 until February 2020.

Overview

The DT 150 are studio headphones that offer maximum noise isolation, ideal for referencing or monitoring in professional environments.

Their neodymium magnets provide a wide frequency response and extended bass response.

Their distinctly rectangular design coupled with an impedance of 250 Ohms makes these better suited to studio and home use rather than listening out in public.

The headband and earphone cushioning systems provide a comfortable design as well as serviceable and replaceable parts.

Considering the value outweighing the price, these are ideal headphones for tracking, recording and live stage monitoring.

The different pad choices affect the sound slightly with the velours sounding more balanced across the spectrum.

I have a lot of headphones

I have a lot of headphones having collected AKG vintage for many years and anything else I have found interesting over hours and hours of mixing and listening but the DT150 are my go to cans for accuracy and relaxation. Extremely comfortable and very wide frequency range and not bad value when you see some of the "in crowd" look good rubbish on the market these days. Get some!.
