Specifications:

  • Type: Condenser
  • Polar Pattern: Cardioid

  • Impedance:50 ohms
  • Max SPL: 136 dB SPL
  • Applications: Recording vocals, acoustic instruments

Pros

Crisp, clear, transparent, and other similar words best describe the Spark SL according to many users. Many were impressed with how much detail the mic pics up. Acoustic guitar sounds particularly good with a sheen not usually found in other mics at this price. Female voices get treated to the same sparkle without any annoying harshness.

Cons

Others felt that in order to maximize the potential of the mic, it needs to be used in a well-treated room as it picks up details you might not want to pick up such as chair squeaks, excess room reverberation and the like.

Overall

Want a crisp sounding condenser microphone for your voice or acoustic guitar? The Spark SL delivers in more ways than one with its excellent clarity and detail.

Unfortunately this is no longer available new in stores, however you can see excellent alternatives in our guide to The Best Condenser Microphones.
