Overview

The D’Addario EJ19 is made from 80/20 bronze, so expect to end up with a very bright and cutting tone.

An important thing to know about these strings is that they’re a “Light Top/Medium Bottom”. Essentially, this means that the set is a mixture of a light gauge and a medium one, the thinnest strings are going to be easier to play, while the thicker ones are going to be harder to fret.

This is actually great if you’re looking to play lead on an acoustic guitar. Because the thicker strings are heavier you’ll still be getting plenty of volume, and the lighter gauge of the high-E, B, and G strings facilitate playing lead.
