DigiTech RP1000

It's impressive how after over a decade, the DigiTech RP1000 still continues to be among the top rated multi-effects unit in the market. This longevity is mostly thanks to the RP1000's intuitive controls, pedal-friendly effects loop, and it's generous number of footswitches.

It lets you use up to 5 different effect types, of which there are 86 to choose from, more than enough to satisfy even the most experimental of players.

It also comes with 55 amp models and 26 cabinet models that you can mix and match to get your desired sound.

And if that's not enough, DigiTech equipped this processor with a nifty effects loop section that lets you easily integrate it with your existing stompboxes.

It also doesn't force you to use the built-in amp models because it has an amp loop feature that lets you utilize the tone of your favorite amp. Combined together, these loops allow for more freedom in positioning your effects, be it pre or post preamp.

Other features include having a 20-second looper and a built-in tuner, both of which can be handy in practice and performance situations.

Finally all of these features are packed inside a tank tough metal chassis that is more than capable of handling the rigors of regular gigging.

Pros

While many of the positive reviews are from many years back, there are a good number of recent ones that still give the DigiTech RP1000 two thumbs up. This is a testament to the pedal's longevity and relevance, which is impressive in a time where manufacturers regularly upgrade, if not totally replace, their multi-effects products. Most of the commendations point to the RP1000's good balance of versatility and ease of use.

Cons

As expected, there are some who find the features to be lacking, especially when compared to more recent releases, but they too are impressed with the pedal's solid build and 14 footswitches.
