Meta Analysis Overview

Our rating of 87/100 is based on analysis of 125+ sources comprised of online reviews and discussions. Under the Pros and Cons headings below you'll find a condensed analysis of what those owners and users have been saying. Feel free to ask questions or add your thoughts in the comments section.

The Donner DAG-1E is an affordable acoustic-electric guitar that follows the familiar dreadnought shape. As a conventional dreadnought, it features familiar tonewoods, which include mahogany for the back and sides, and spruce for the top. The neck is also crafted from mahogany with a "C" shape profile.

Electronic components include an under-saddle piezo pickup with an active preamp that houses basic EQ controls.

While all of the above are already good for the price, Donner bundles this guitar with a capo, guitar strap, a pickguard (so you have a choice if you want your guitar to have a pickguard or not), a bundle of picks, and an extra set of guitar strings.

The extras also help here, one-upping the DAG-1E's already good reputation for value. Playability is also often commended, which is good since this is aimed for beginners and students.

Cons
There are a few who complain about quality inconsistencies. While some owners report cosmetic and action related issues right out of the box.
