The workmanship came in for a lot of praise in customer reviews as did the action, neck comfort, and playability in general. There were quite a number of reviews from people who play more expensive Martins and they almost universally said this guitar was "great value for the money". The tone was variously described as "rich", "warm" and "full".

I did find a small number of negative customer reviews with the common thread being that some found the action too high.

At the time of writing this was the best value US made Martin available.
