Gearank High Notes
In November 2016 we announced that this was the 3rd highest rated acoustic guitar priced between $1,000 and $2,000. On January 24, 2018 it was removed from our recommended list because it no longer ranked in the top 3 in its price bracket - you can see our current recommendations in our guide to The Best Acoustic Guitars.
Overview
The Martin D-16GT was made in the USA featuring solid woods for the top and body.
The workmanship is excellent making this a very solid guitar, and despite the price, it offers good value for money.
The action is reasonably playable but not so low as to cause fret buzz, some people even get the action lowered.
Overall it produces a warm, rich and full tone.
