TC Helicon Ditto Mic Looper - Vocal Effects Pedal
TC Helicon Ditto Mic Looper - Vocal Effects Pedal

Taking advantage of the success of the TC-Electronic Ditto looper for guitar, TC-Helicon released the Ditto Mic Looper in the early part of 2015.

Now it looks like the Ditto Mic Looper did not gain the same popularity as the guitar pedal, but the few reviews that it has are consistently good, especially those made by experts. As such, we feel that this hidden gem in the vocal effects market deserves a spot in this list.

Key Features

  • 5 minute loop length
  • Unlimited overdub
  • Automatic Mic Gain control
  • Loop stop and erase control
  • 24V Phantom Power

This pedal is a straightforward single effect pedal that is meant to do just one task, and that is to let you record, overdub and play your loops in realtime. And it does this straightforward job really well, with the same sonic clarity and transparency as the original Ditto pedal, only this one is tweaked to handle mic sources better.

Speaking of mics, TC Helicon equipped this pedal with an intelligent mic gain control that adjusts the gain and dynamics to your singing, essentially helping balance and improve your overall vocal sound.

Finally, this pedal is housed in a tank tough casing designed to survive regular gigs and travels. The obvious let down for this pedal is the lack of essential mic effect like reverb and compression, but if you're looking for basic looping functionality, then this is definitely a practical choice.
