The Xvive U3 is a unique option in that it doesn't come with a mic, rather it is a wireless system that can be used with non-wireless dynamic mics.
The transmitter is designed to connect to the XLR port of dynamic mics, essentially turning a wired mic wireless, which is great if you want the freedom of wireless while still using your favorite dynamic vocal mic.
It operates on the 2.4GHz band, much like wireless routers, with less than 5ms latency.
It is designed to be used with PA systems, recording gear, and even with DSLR cameras.
Finally, it runs on a rechargeable battery that provides up to 5 hours of usage.
- Receiver frequency: 2.4 GHz
- Range: Up to 90 feet / 27.43 meters
- XLR out for plugging straight into PA system / Recording Console / DSLR Camera with XLR out
- Compact transmitter that can be plugged into dynamic wired mics.
Convenience is king in reviews for products like this; one user summarized market sentiment by saying that it is a "wireless cable" that un-tethers your favorite mic. Transparency was also commended, even those with sensitive ears trust this system enough to replace their cables. Many users prefer this system because it doesn't have a bulky receiver, reducing wire and hardware clutter in setups.
While 2.4 GHz is free from radio, TV, and cell phone tower signal interference, it does suffer the same pitfalls as other devices that use the frequency, like having a short range of up to 90 feet, It is also susceptible to 2.4 GHz interference, which is why the manufacturers caution that you use this wireless system a good distance away (3 meters) from wireless routers.
