Everything You Want in a Modern Analog Drum Machine

Elektron's premier analog drum machine is better than ever — meet the Analog Rytm MKII 8-voice drum computer. It combines the sonic depth of analog with precision digital control, plus all the powerful sequencing capabilities you expect from Elektron. This second-generation update adds sampling capabilities (with balanced audio inputs), a vivid OLED screen, ultra-rugged backlit buttons, hi-res encoders, and more dedicated buttons for a faster workflow. You'll also find larger pads for better playability, expression/CV inputs for external control, and a burly cast aluminum enclosure. Start exploring the huge drum sounds, incredible sampling capabilities, and outstanding performance control — you'll wonder if there's any limit to the Analog Rytm MKII's creative possibilities.

Exceptional sound design potential from combining analog tones with samples

You've got eight drum voices on the Elektron Analog Rytm MKII. On top of the analog sound generator, there's a sampling engine (with balanced audio inputs) for layering a digital sample with your analog tone. From there, you have analog overdrive, analog multimode filter with envelope, amplitude envelope, effects sends, and an LFO — for each individual drum voice. Whether you're primarily interested in creating analog sounds or tapping into your vast sample library, you'll love how the Analog Rytm MKII brings the two together.

You've never been able to do this with an analog drum machine before

The Scene mode on the Analog Rytm MKII gives you incredible parameter control over the analog circuits, thanks to ultra-fast digital control. Each scene is a set of parameter settings that you can assign to the performance pads, allowing you to change lots of parameters simultaneously just by hitting a pad. The amazing thing is that you could change scenes or even sounds every step of the sequence with no unwanted glitches or lags — perfect for creating outrageously complex patterns and nuanced progressions alike. It's no small feat to create a truly analog signal path that you can automate with no noticeable lag, but Elektron nailed it. Musicians at Sweetwater are amazed at the powerful digital control over the analog circuitry, and we've scrutinized countless synths, sequencers, and drum machines.

Full integration with your DAW via Elektron Overbridge

Producers at Sweetwater love Elektron’s Overbridge technology. Overbridge lets you integrate your Analog Rytm MKII right into your DAW, routing audio to and from your hardware via a single USB cable — all internal voices, external inputs, and the main mix bus are sent to your DAW as individual tracks. Better yet, you get a whole graphic user interface to control every major aspect of Analog Rytm MKII, essentially turning it into a plug-in — your Analog Rytm MKII settings and projects will be recalled whenever you open your DAW project. Standalone operation is supported too, allowing you to control your Analog Rytm MKII via Overbridge even without your DAW.

A full-service groove station for your studio and live performances

Everything about the Analog Rytm MKII shows that Elektron knows what demanding electronic musicians need. The responsive pads are superb for pounding in beats as well as playing sounds chromatically, and you can color-code them for easy visual identification. The powerful sequencer gives you all the control you could ask for, and it's easy to link together pattern chains on the fly. You've got individual audio outputs for each drum voice, plus USB and MIDI I/O too. Any performing electronic musician at Sweetwater will tell you that the combination of rich analog sound, versatile performance potential, and smart design makes the Elektron Analog Rytm MKII an outstanding addition to any electronic rig.

Best Drum Machine Ever

Has a definite learning curve but does amazing things that no other drum computer can do. It combines analogue wave generated sounds with the ability to add samples and change waves types, adjust lfo frequencies and add multiple effects to each sound individually.
Music background: DJ/Producer and NW rave scene pioneer.

Amazing!

I owned the Syntakt and while it is incredible, it just never clicked. However, the Rytm is my new favorite piece of gear. It takes some education to understand it (and I'm just getting started), but this is hands down the best drum machine I've ever owned. You won't go wrong with it.

Sample sequencing beast

Absolutely love this machine and you will too! Well worth the price, if I had to, I would buy it all over again.

Amazing!!!

I was quite imitated when researching and YouTubing the Analog Rytm MKII, but once I got the unit and started playing around with it, I was blown away by it's capabilities and the build quality! If you take the time to learn a couple of features per day, you'll become familiar with it in no time at all. Elektron also provides second to none support. Need a drum machine and sampler, look no further. I was in love at first touch!

Top Analog Drum Machine

This thing is a beast. From the sequencer to the analog modeling engines the RTYM is about the most robust drum machine you can buy. You can dive deep into sound design or use the immediacy of the Elektron sequencer to jam on the fly. I continue to get lost in this thing for hours.
