Take a Walk on the Blues Side with This Amp!

Here's a great throwback to a bluesier time - the Fender Reissue Blues Deluxe! If you loved the Hot Rod Deluxe but wanted a little bluesier warmth to your tone, this amp is for you. The Blues Deluxe Reissue is an update of the 1993 Fender Tweed series that took a great old collectable 1950s Deluxe and customized it with channel switching and reverb. The Tweed Blues Deluxe is a vintage-styled tube amp with boutique tone at mass-produced prices, and pro players in rock, country, and blues will get great results from this reissue!

The advantages of a Hot Rod Deluxe with a warmer tone

Fender transformed the Blues Deluxe amp into the Hot Rod Deluxe in the mid-1990s and gave it modified circuitry, a third "More Drive" channel, and a black/silver cosmetic treatment. Though the Hot Rod series amps are more popular than ever today, increasing numbers of guitar players continue to request the warm tone, unique circuitry, features, and look of the original Blues Deluxe version. The Reissue Blues Deluxe marks a return to that amplifier's tone and appeal.

Two channels, both voiced for classic sounds

The Fender Blues Deluxe reissue offers two channels that are perfect for classic blues, country, and rock styles. The vintage channel serves up a great blend of cleans plus a bright switch for lead playing. The Blues Deluxe's drive channel pushes the 12AX7 preamp tubes harder and offers just the right amount of distortion. Independent gain and master controls in the drive channel give you lots of tone and level options.

40 watts through a special design Eminence speaker

The Fender Blues Deluxe screams "tube" all the way! Its 40-watt amp is driven by two 6L6 output tubes for about the most authentic tone you can imagine. Power goes to a special design Eminence 12" speaker that sounds great low or cranked. The Blues Deluxe is a natural for the stage in clubs or miked in large rooms. Plus, you'll love the Blues Deluxe's signature sound in the studio.

Classic tweed with vintage-style knobs and controls

Fender does reissues right, and the Blues Deluxe is proof! Its cloth tweed covering will take you back, as will the vintage-style chicken head knobs and classic-looking chrome control panel. The Fender Blues Deluxe is an amp you'll love to own, love to play, and love to show off!

RHYTHM REVIEW

Real glad I purchased this Blues-Deluxe. My background is maintaining Super-Beatles since 1967. It occurred to me Fender might discontinue making tube-amps due to Putin cutting-off tube exports. I play rhythm. At any power-level this has required a 412 minimum. I had a 26" Sound-Enhancer in storage and wondered if a small tube combo on it would have enough low-end for gigs. Yes, it does. The clean channel is full frequency response and 40-Watts breaks up at a level that matches the band. Has a nice musical growl and great fidelity.
Music background: Originals and covers thru the years. Emphasis on harmony.

More Than Clean, It's Tweed!

This might not be your first choice for a ultra gain amp but it's hard to beat for a great chimey clean Fender sound and it sounds even better when you push it a little. I've had a lot of Blackface Fender amps over the years and I never got that excited about them. They sounded great but I always liked the way other amps broke up when you pushed them. The Blackface Fenders usually stay clean really loud and when you push them to the limit the overdrive is kind of ugly. But I never had a Tweed Fender and I always heard people rave about them. So I get it now. The Fender Blues Deluxe gets that wonderful Fender Fullerton tone but also can get dirty. When you crank the volume up it gets a creamy crunch that is expressive and dynamic. Yes it's also got a separate gain channel but that's not where this amp really shines. It's a 40 watt amp so it's got enough power for playing with a band with a drums and it's small enough to carry around. Also I love the lacquered Tweed which apparently is a Sweetwater exclusive. The lacquer adds more protection and the vintage amber tint just looks awesome. I saved a few bucks and got mine from Sweetwater's used gear department. It looks brand new and has the same warranty as a new amp. I can't say enough about Sweetwater. I have had nothing but great experiences with my salesperson Aaron Tremain and all the staff.

YES!

To be honest I've been wanting a fender tube amp for years now, And it's everything I ever thought it would be! This is absolutely the best amp that I've ever had, gorgeous round tone, with input two it can be played at around 1-2 volume and sound amazing for practice, and there's plenty of power to crank it up and play with the band. The drive channel sounds amazing too, with a nice bit of fuzziness that can be as subtle or blatant as you want, and sounds warm and growly, not abrasive or screechy. Sounds like a dream any way you set it (I usually have the eq set so everything is even, and it still sounds good). I've used my Ibanez artcore semi-hollow, my strat, and a les paul I'm borrowing from a friend, and they all sound good through it. The amp brings out exactly the right overtones that give each guitar its character. For the first time since I started playing I'm actually extremely happy with the sound that I'm getting (almost to the point where I don't want any more gear!)

Also, worth mentioning how amazing the sweetwater sales team is! I had trouble deciding between this amp and the hot rod deluxe, but I called sweetwater sales, and they were able to walk me through the differences before guiding me to this amp (which is really the best choice for me). There was a little issue with my local FedEx, and sweetwater was supportive, understanding, and helpful the whole time. They also sent me emails on how to use my amp before I got it, and as someone who's been playing for years, but never owned a tube amp before was VERY helpful. Thanks to sweetwater's articles I was able to sound good right out of the box!

I have nothing but good things to say! If you want warm tones that make you feel like you've died and gone to heaven, buy this amp. If you want great customer service, buy it from sweetwater!

Fender Blues Deluxe

Classic tone and plenty of power. The spring reverb is top notch. It's now the best sounding amp I own. The tweed cover is beautiful.

Happy little learning curve....

I spent days watching for this AMP to show up...I have not been disappointed. It's got a bit of a learning curve for me coming from my micro dark... At 3 the amp vibrates the floor upstairs. I'm feel somewhat new to the electric guitar scene so with my sheraton 2 I start with some scales, then BB King and Albert King, split the coils for some stuff to go with Merle Haggard and the Marshall Tucker Band, finally fire up the humbuckers again with the drive channel for my attempts at pride and joy...

I particularly love the way Boom Boom Boom and the Thrill is Gone sound through this amp. So now I have a few dilemmas.... do I pick up a telecaster or some pedals first? How to do I keep from waking the two year old (she can sleep through it sometimes) or from drowning out the girls watching SVU while playing? Another little dilemma is apparantly no one but me can move the amp, so I have to be a big boy and put my toys away...LOL

I probably should have waited a bit longer for this review-I haven't had nearly enough time to play with it....
