A classic pedigree

BOSS compressor pedals have been and continue to be found on countless pedalboards around the world. Their clear tone, ease-of-use, and nearly indestructible construction have made the CP series of compression stomp boxes classics. The CP-1X is the most forward-thinking iteration of these famed pedals. But even with all the power onboard, this compressor still boasts the familiar 4-knob control layout, transparent performance, and gig-ready build of it's iconic brothers.

Multi-Dimensional Processing

What separates the CP-1X from BOSS's other compressors is its digital Multi-Dimensional Processing. This intelligent design instantly analyzes the different aspects of your guitar's signal and applies the pedal's effect to each differently, ensuring the pedal performs in the most musical way possible. This also means that the CP-1X remains transparent at any setting. And Sweetwater guitarists immediately noticed how quiet this digital processing makes the pedal. Definitely a big win.

18-volt internal electronics

Headroom is extremely important in a great compression circuit. That's why BOSS engineered the CP-1X with an internal voltage pump. What this means is, though you are able to use the standard (optional) BOSS 9-volt power adapter or 9V battery to power the unit, you'll receive the power needed to handle guitars that other compressors can struggle with. Active pickups, extended-range guitars, and acoustic-electric guitars are no problem, thanks to the pedal's 18-volt internal electronics.

CP-1X Compressor - Studio sound in a pedal, and Quiet!

Quiet was a priority for me when upgrading my always ON compressor on my pedalboard, and this one is dead quiet. Next was the ability to not lose pick attack, clean, or going into an overdrive pedal that is sensitive ( in a good way ), to pick attack. This one delivers that, too. The 4 controls are interactive in a very user friendly way. The CP-1X adds a bit of body/low end, but in a pleasing way. The LED gain reduction meter is a great visual check in, in the heat of the moment, especially since you can't see where the knobs are set from playing position. The chrome thing is classy, but I'll likely put either different knobs, or cut little pieces of tape for pointers on these chrome knobs - that's my only gripe. ( same goes for OD-1X, which I have, and did the pointer thing )

As Bad As Bad Can Be.

By far the cleanest and the quietest compressor I use it to drive my stereo Overdrive pedal that I designed myself this produces the cleanest lead solos or you can turn up a little bit of grit and it'll produce the cleanest grit solos

Underrated sleeper

Had some doubts, but the clarity of this thing is astonishing, makes almost everything sound better. It's a great boost pedal too, lots of headroom. Fantastic on acoustic, electric and bass. It not only evens out volume and adds sustain, but evens out frequency content to improve clarity. It'll probably never leave my board.

The BEST compressor I have ever owned.

Have owned the following compressors: Keeley Compressor Plus, Origin Effects Cali76, EHX Soul Preacher, Xotic SP, MXR Dyna Comp. I A/B'ed them against the Boss CP-1X and am keeping the CP-1X.
The CP-1X is truly a studio grade compressor. Ultra quiet, ultra transparent.
Most other compressors (except for the Cali76) either colored the tone (cut off frequencies) or added too much noise. Loved my Cali76 but for the money, I feel the CP-1X is a better device - it just works and is a TONE PRESERVER. The CP-1X lets the tone of your gear come through exactly as intended. I highly recommend this pedal as I beleive the technology BOSS used in this is by far the best currently available.

This Pedal Does Exactly What It Says About It. It Brings Everything Together No Highs And Lows All On The Same Level And Creates A Very Melodic Sound. Makes My Telecaster And My Custom Martin Come Together.
