Double Down on Tape-style Delay and Versatile Reverb

Combining three sweet reverb types with analog-style tape delay, the Keeley Caverns V2 effects pedal for electric guitar delivers two must-have effects. The delay section (based on Keeley's Magnetic Echo delay) ranges up to 650ms, and you can add modulation for even more analog character. The reverb side offers Spring, Shimmer, and Modulated reverb modes, with modulation available via the Rate knob. It's perfect for ambient styles, surf rock, and much more. But no matter what genre of music you create, the Keeley Caverns V2 packs two great-sounding, must-have guitar effects in a single, gig-ready pedal.

Switchable True Bypass or "Trails" operation

Guitarists at Sweetwater love it when delay and reverb pedals offer "Trails" that allow the effect to decay naturally when you switch the pedal off (instead of cutting the effect completely), and the Keeley Caverns V2 doesn't disappoint. With Trails engaged, the pedal uses a buffered bypass to maintain your signal quality and allows effects to decay after switching. If you prefer True Bypass switching, that mode is also available.

Keeley Caverns V2 Delay/Reverb Effects Pedal Features:

  • Delay and reverb effects pedal for electric guitar
  • Tape-style delay with wow/flutter modulation and up to 650ms of delay time
  • Spring Reverb mode for vintage Blackface-style reverb with available tremolo modulation
  • Shimmer Reverb mode adds octave-up voices to the effect
  • Modulation Reverb mode adds a chorusing effect to a cavernous reverb
  • Top-mounted jacks for pedalboard convenience
  • Choose from True Bypass mode, or Trails mode (buffered bypass) to allow effects to decay naturally after switching the effect off

Love it!

The Caverns is a great pedal. Works right out of the box without having to download anything to it to get complete functionality. Easy to use controls without having to scroll through menus. Subtle adjustments are a simple knob turn away. On the reverb side, I use mostly the spring setting set fairly low - just enough to add some dimension. If I click on the delay as well, I usually switch to the modulated reverb setting but don't change the other reverb controls. For the delay, I like the medium-long delay with a low rate and the light modulation setting. Combined with the modulated reverb setting, this yields a nice open sending effect. The warmth know is a great idea and keeps the tone full - I use it all the way "warm", which is full counter clockwise. The pedal can also do a great slap delay but I use the JHS Milkman for that as it is specifically designed for short delay and also has a transparent boost function that works independently from its delay function. The Caverns blend knobs are a good addition too as they allow you to get just the right blend between your dry and effected signals to suit your taste. Great service from Mark Bruhn and Sweetwater as always.

Yeah... It's That Good

Keeley makes some great pedals. The Caverns Reverb/Delay is no exception.
My delay needs are kinda simple... a little slap-back sometimes and some longer delays occasionally when soloing. This pedal sounds better, to my ears, than the Carbon Copy which was just a little too soft for my tastes. I only use the standard setting and have no need for modulated delay.
The Reverbs, however, are phenomenal. Three outstanding and very useful modes to choose from. The spring reverb is superb with a lovely tremolo when used sparingly. My favorite is the shimmer mode with an upper-octave pitch shift. When applied correctly, it can sound like violins or even "angel voices". Great for light acoustic strumming. And of course, if you wish, you can choose no modulation at all and still have three fully functional quality reverbs at your disposal.
The vesatility and quality of this pedal make it an excellent value for the money. Plus, it doesn't take up much room on the pedalboard when you consider that it's two pedals in one. I am immensely pleased with it.

The Caverns is a MUST HAVE

This is such an amazing pedal, or should I say pedals. This was the first of many Keeley pedals that I have bought. I was blown away with the quality and sound of this thing. The build quality is immaculate and all of the knobs and switches are very smooth. The variety of sounds you can get from each side of this pedal are sure to inspire you.

I originally bought this thinking it would be just my standard delay and reverb at the end of my signal chain, but OMG, that would be doing a disservice to this pedal. On e I started messing with the different shimmer settings and combining the delay and reverb together, I knew this was going to be my ethereal space travel shogaze pedal! This thing rocks!

Totally worth it

It's honestly the best bang for your buck if you want to keep some space on your pedal board and not have to use two separate delay or reverb pedals. Honestly I felt that it was worth more than the price I paid once playing around with it. Works solid with my Roland jazz chorus with a compressor pedal alongside it.If you add a little chorus to the modulated reverb, it's almost heaven sent. The shimmer effect for reverb is too cool and outer-worldly. Big thanks to Anthony Giraldi and the good people at Sweetwater. The service and shipping is incredibly fast! Below are the 4 pedals I recently ordered from Sweetwater. They pair well together aside from the big muff but that's another story. If you're new to pedals as I am, check out Sweetwaters pedal train pedalboard packs! They have different sizes and come with a True Tone one spot pro. I personally went for the smallest option but with that being said, I'm probably going to upsize eventually. (Soon)

Sounds like it’s name

A lot of the reverb and delay noises do have a very cavern type of sound. I think they all sound pretty good. I wasn't sure what to expect out of this pedal. I really just wanted a reverb and delay combo. I can get a good reverb sound but I do think I'm looking for a little more of a traditional spring reverb sound and it's hard to achieve from this pedal. The spring setting has a slight tremolo effect to it and it's noticeable unless you turn the blend knob way down. At that setting I find I'm still wanting some more spank out of the tank. The pedal sounds super cool but I think I'll still be on the look out for a dedicated reverb pedal in my chain
