Vintage Tele Tone

Hot rod your guitar with the DiMarzio DP172 Twang King electric guitar neck pickup. Designed to deliver vintage Tele tones, the Twang King gives your guitar the spank and snap you want and need. This pickup is ultra-responsive to your pick attack. Light playing gives you a smooth, soft tone. When you start hitting the pickup hard, it's louder and more dynamic than regular single-coil pickups. DiMarzio took great care in the design of the DP172 Twang King: controlled-tension windings, hand-calibrated magnets, special wire, and double wax potting ensure a great pickup with killer tone. If you want your guitar to sing like a pro, then you need the DiMarzio DP172 Twang King electric guitar neck pickup.

DiMarzio guitar pickups give you the tone and output you need to get the most out of your guitar. Dozens of guitar legends have used DiMarzio pickups in their prized instruments, from Joe Satriani and Steve Vai to David Gilmour and Eric Johnson, Jerry Garcia to John Petrucci — the list goes on and on. Ever since the introduction of the Super Distortion humbucker in the early 1970s, players have relied on DiMarzio for a range of replacement pickups that suit their needs best. Take your axe to the next level with DiMarzio!

Great tone!

I put this in a parts caster tele. This is a really nice upgrade to a stock Mexican tele neck pickup. In my opinion, it has more of a strat neck vibe now. I paired this with a chopper T pickup. Great combo if you are looking for rock/blues tone from your tele.

Exactly what I needed.

I bought the pickup to replace the existing one in a no name Tele I have that plays well. The bridge pickup had already been replaced and sounded great. The DiMarzio Twang King turned out to be perfect for job. Smooth on its own and a great blend with the bridge in the middle position.
Music background: Into my sixth decade of guitar and gigs. Still hoping to get it right.

Twang King neck upgrade

I am very happy with the neck Twang King pickup. Vast improvement in my American Professional Telecaster. The stock neck pickup wasn't anything special, so I rarely used it. Now I love bouncing back and forth between neck and bridge. Blends well in the middle position. Chris Mosley was very helpful and knowledgeable on the subject.

sounds like a tele is supposed to sound

extremely clear, articulate and balanced tone. and it"s paired perfectly (as it should be) with a twang king bridge pickup. very traditional-sounding telecaster tone.
