Yes

A few weeks ago I impulse bought an Ibanez GSR 180 from a pawn shop. A very inexpensive beginner bass but I liked the color and it had new strings. Really didn't expect too much from it... but it was acceptable. I strung it with these Hi Beams yesterday and that was it! Excellent tone, clarity, versatility etc. blah blah. And easy on the fingers. My other basses will get the same treatment (one by one in different gauges I think) but this brand has it right.

WOW!

I was looking for a string that had a nice, supple feel, great sound and good longevity. My favorite strings are Thomastik Infeld Jazz rounds. However, I was looking for something similar, but not as pricey. I am so glad I found these. To me they rank up there with the TI Jazz rounds in their feel and their sound. Unlike the TI's, I did not have to do a total reset-up on my Warmoth bass. While not as low tension as the Jazz rounds, they were noticeably lower in tension than Fender or D'Addario rounds that I had on two of my other basses. There was minimal stretching involved to get them to stay in tune, they feel great and sound awesome. I may have just found my new favorite string.

Humbuckers Rejoice!

I have a Squier Affinity Jaguar H with a humbucker pickup and found out the hard way why my father always called humbuckers "Mudbuckers". These strings bring the humbuckers up out of the "mud". Now my Jag is in the same ballpark as the P basses and J basses. I mean, it sounds different than the P's and J's but only in the same way that P's and J's sound different from each other.
Music background: Experienced in the past. Coming back as a hobby now.

My New Go-To Strings

I'm very particular about strings. I don't use the same brand on all of my basses, I feel like each bass has a different voice and needs strings that compliment that voice. I put these on my Fender American Jazz and absolutely love the tone, bright clear highs and mellow lows. I can't put that bass down now. The 40-100 set are my new standard strings for this bass.

DR Hi-Beams

I haven't used any other strings on my basses for over 30 years. Just what they say. Last and last. Full balanced tone and I get the punch and attack of the RotoSound RS66 that I started out with in the 70s. I have them on all 7 of my basses and there is no evident fret ware on any of them. Highly recommend them
