Ernie Ball Slinky Bass Strings

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

Ernie Ball Power Slinky Round Wound Regular Bass Strings are heavily used by both amateurs and professional musicians. Made from nickel plated steel (NPS) windings wrapped around tin plated, hex shaped steel core wire, Slinkys produce a well balanced, all-around great sound, no matter what your playing style.

Best Bass Strings

Awesome Bass Strings. I used these on my P-Bass, and my Sting Ray and love the tone, feel, and longevity I get. Great value, and quality.

My Go To For Bass Strings

Although they aren't anything ground breaking, I still use these strings year after year. I don't think I've ever had one break and they put out some good thump even after being on the bass for quite a few months.

Great Strings

Ernie Ball strings have been my choice for stings for over 20 years. I have played strings that sounded better but I have never found another brand that is as consistant and such a good value as Ernie Ball. They sound great fresh and when they start to fade I can adjust my attack and still make them sound good. They do not get all chalky, scratchy and tinny sounding as they wear out. I put regular Sinky's on all of my electric guitars and basses and I am confident in my strings on whichever guitar I am playing.

Nothing special...

If you want that fresh, round-wound attack, these will do... for about 1 gig. They loose the "zing" quick and go into a pretty consistent, slightly dull sounding tone after a few hours. Some guys like that flat-ish tone and won't be bothered. As for myself, I love them when new but just can't get longevity out of them. They are durable, can't knock 'em that respect. The problem is, for me, that when I end up dishing out the money they want for these and they just go dead quick, I don't feel there is much value in them. Fender Bass strings (nope, I'm not a advert or paid bassist!) give a little less zing when brand new but hold a more consistent ring/tone over time and I can always find them cheaper. I buy EB's on occasion as there is only one music store close to me and it's what they carry... so in a pinch or for a gig they do. Other than that, there isn't much to say. Nothing special..

WENT DEAD QUICKLY

I've used a lot of different brands of electric bass strings, but had never tried "Ernie Ball 2832 Regular Slinky Roundwound Bass Strings". These came recommended as a bright and brilliant sounding set, which I really prefer. They seemed to go dead or flat sounding fairly quick and had to constantly adjust my EQ to keep up with the fading to dull. For the price - maybe, but for keeping tone - not so much.
