Echoplex pedal sounds like the original

I have been through a number of echo / delay pedals over the years. I still have two Echoplex Tape machines, an EP 1 & EP 3. This pedal captures the sound of those tape units extremely well. This immediately found a permanent home on my pedalboard.

Love this pedal

I have had many more expensive tape delays and just replaced a Wampler Tape Echo for this. The Wampler is a great pedal with one flaw; in chain after od/drives it clips. Doesn't do this in front but I don't want it in front for obvious reasons. I was very disappointed as I have several Wampler pedals on my board. I run this along with my Carbon Copy and its just beautiful. The Echoplex is lush, clean, and hits any spot I desire it too.

Echoplex magic in a tiny box.

I bet the engineers who manufactured the original Echoplex machine back in the 60s & 70s would have never imagined a time when their effects would be possible by just using a tiny box like the Dunlop EP103.
This machine captures the original effects so well that it is hard to tell the diference. The volume changes the volume on the trail. When you press down on the knob you have the ability to change the modulation/tape age of the effect as needed. The sustain and delay are self explanatory. I love it and it has replaced my other delay pedals. I pluged a tap tempo to make changes in timing convenient. I also added the Dunlop Echoplex Preamp. This will help to adjust the gain before the signal is processesed by the Echoplex delay. I run them on their own effects loop. I'm sure I will be using these for a long time to come.
I highly recommend them.

Simple to use and sounds great.

In short, I love this pedal. I paired this with the MXR Tap and it makes it easy to get the tempo right. This pedal sounds really nice the way the repeats are not as clean as other pedals. I can't quite describe how that sounds but it sound like the way my ears want to hear it if that makes sense. It has easy to use controls and is not complicated at all which makes me happy.

Amazing!

Perfect delay that doesn't add any unnecessary his or feedback. Very versatile!
