Expand the power of your Bose F1 system with a Subwoofer

The Bose F1 subwoofer is a great compact sub for the F1 system. Its 1,000-watt platform and twin 10" drivers make sure your low end stays punchy. You can even switch between full-range and highpass-filter modes, making the F1 sub great with a main speaker. And best of all, the whole subwoofer package weighs under 60 lbs — a mobile rig's dream sub. And there's no more carrying around pesky speaker stands, because the F1 sub comes with a built-in bracket for mounting Bose's F1 812 flexible-array loudspeaker.

1,000 Watts of Bose Quality Sound

Get the power you need without losing crystal-clear Bose performance

Bose needs no introduction when it comes to top-of-the-line sound quality. The Bose F1 subwoofer continues that great tradition by offering you 1,000 watts of low-end power that's perfect for your Bose F1 flexible-array loudspeakers. Bose's innovative PA products include the critically acclaimed L1 system. Now they've raised the bar again with the Bose F1 system and the F1 subwoofer.

  • Powers two 10" high-excursion drivers
  • Can run full range or as a sub
  • Polarity switch corrects low-frequency overlap
  • Frequency range is 38Hz–250Hz

F1 Model 812 Extension Bracket

Seamlessly mount your F1 PA system

When you use your Bose F1 subwoofer with the F1 Model 812 array speaker, you get to leave the extra weight and headache of speaker stands at home. The F1 sub comes with a built-in 812 mounting bracket. It inserts into the sub, elevating your 812 array speaker for optimal performance. And when the show's over, simply pull the speaker down and lock the bracket into place in the back of the sub for next time. Now you'll never have to worry about bringing extra gear or leaving it at the gig.

  • Pairs flawlessly with your Bose F1 812 flexible-array loudspeaker
  • Mounting bracket is built into the F1 sub
  • Eliminates the need for a standard pole mounting

Easy to Transport at 55 lbs.

Never fear moving the subwoofer again

If you've ever transported PA gear, you know all too well that the subwoofer is the heaviest thing in the rig — big, bulky, awkward, and did we mention heavy? But they're a necessity for a great-sounding PA rig. The Bose F1 subwoofer's compact design weighs in at around 55 lbs. and can easily be managed by one person. Now the band won't mysteriously disappear when it's time to load in the subwoofer!

  • 55 lbs. makes it incredibly light for a sub
  • Much more compact than many other PA sub designs
  • 27" H x 16.1" W x 17.6" D

Outstanding Sub for the price.

This is an outstanding Sub system for almost anything. It is important to note the Crossover reported seems to be off by about 10 or so Hz. If I remember spec says Crossover is at around 40Hz, but it "Sounds" more like 50Hz. This is noticible because the sub unit this replaced had a 30Hz Crossover and this is used at a school with heavy Rap Hip Hop Pop music, often sub sonic and very low frequency in this kind of music. I was happy but a little let down it could not produce quite the same low crossover as the old Klipsch Sub. I UNDERSTAND this is by design, slightly higher crossover makes your power go a LOT further in large venues. Regardless, it would be NICE if Bose could include a Manual adjustment so the user can decide how to use that power rather then just let the computer in the sub decide for you.

NOT TO FEAR, I rated this 5 stars because overall it's an outstanding unit and the Crossover frequency thing is corrected with a Behringer FBQ3102HD XLR Balanced EQ. This inexpensive device is what I would list as an essential addon to help fine tune a sub and speakers to go with it.

Build quality is outstanding and durable and weight is reasonable at about 60ish pounds. If you're looking for a new sub, give this a shot. It may suprise you. I feel it sounds like a sub with double the output power. Enjoy! :)

amazing for the size/weight/power

I've been using these F1 subs with the F1 tops for 4+ years, constant gigging. One thing that just blows me away, especially indoors, is how it sounds like a theater installation sound system. Big balanced lows that match the tops. One could conceivably set of an F1 top and bottom straight out of the mixer, flat, and expect very good sound.

Let me say that again: BALANCED lows, sounds like a theater.

Outdoors we have four of these F1 subs. It's plenty for what we do, and boy do we get complements. For gigs where the band sets up on a flatbed trailer, in the park, etc. I like to put them all side by side, and there's NO power alleys to contend with. I've walked around amazed how there's NO BAD SEAT when I do that. Full even coverage everywhere.

We've had extremely good service from Bose. One defective woofer early on, and they OVERNIGHTED another speaker before we got this one shipped out! Tell me another company that will do that?

I HIGHLY recommend Bose products, even if they're "spec snobs" and have to know the actual power, which no one does. It's about the sound, not the specs. They sound great!

Bose F1 Subwoofer

I was amazed with the condition of the item. For a B-stock it looks and performs like brand new. This is my first time to purchase at sweetwater and my whole experience exceeded my expectations. Big big shout out to Nate Kaufman! Nothing can beat the 2 year warranty of sweetwater..

F1 super sub

I pair this a bad boy with my two S1 battery powered speakers at local bar gigs and run them on the high profile setting let me tell you we turn these bars into Miniature clubs with enough power to keep 150 people dancing in front of the DJ booth I can't wait to buy another and add the 812 set up and get into bigger venues Bose is the way to go if you want portable immaculate sound!

Superior unit with ~35hz with 2x 10s. And LOUD, good spatial coverage. Just perfect IMHO and I think I tried them all

Use the F1 Sub strictly in my mancave, a fairly large room (30x20) in my home. I was looking for something to give the 2x S1-Pros that I have a little help on the low end, and they really need it. The S1s are fantastic for both mids and highs, very accurate speakers indeed. So, I tried a few bins, like the QSC 15 and all I really got was a mushy non-thump sort of bass. The QSC stage bins are made for the stage, and shouting out to a larger hall. So of course they wouldn't work. Some others like JBL subs were tried, with the opposite effect. Some cheapie 15s here and there, no results.

I wanted a stage setup here in the house - and no more people whining about "I don't hear this, and I don't hear that, and no bass, no highs, no mids, no cymbals, no guitar, no Rhodes" on and on. Sweetwater was pretty good to me throughout. So they go hey - Bose makes this F1 duo that you aughta look at, I was told. Looked good on paper, so I brought in this wonderful bass bin called the F1 Sub. It's supposed to hook up to an 812, but we quickly noted the rear setup is made to signal other speakers in-line. GREAT! Now, I've got what I think is the best combination of portability (S1s are battery powered when no mains available), and boy does this setup work great out on the pool patio when 30-40 people are here. EVERYbody hangs around the speakers for the duration of the party, looking, touching, taking pictures, constantly bugging me about details. "Never heard anything sound that good", "Fantastic", "How'd you do that?" "Sounds 50x better than our wedding reception", "can I borrow them for my wedding?" etc.

But I put it together for my mancave right? And that's where they've been for some time. Now I'm spoiled, the F1 Sub will rattle the walls if you want, and the S1s can keep up. A bandpass on the sub will cut out anything below 100hz to the S1s. The F1 Sub will respond very well to 35hz, and loudly. Any other audio system now sux, especially in my car where I originally thought was the ultimate sound system.

Would a set of 812s instead of the S1Pros be even better? Just when I thought I had the best, well anyway I know I'm close lol

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

The Bose F1 system gives me the definition and coverage I need for midsize live-sound gigs. These PA speakers lets me get great separation of all the parts. It also responds really well to EQ and has plenty of punch. Best of all, the whole compact system packs down small and is easy to transport.
