Over 4 years and still going strong!

Came back to write a review on the longevity of this piano. Have had this piano for over 4 years and it still plays like the day we got it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some other digital pianos, however, that's not what we wanted. We wanted a slim, easy to play, realistic as we could get digital piano. This one is absolutely it! We tried Yamaha, Korg, Casio, and other digital brands, but the action on this one really stood out as being the best. We have moved 2-3 times, have cats, and sometimes are late to getting around to dusting the piano. Even with cat hair and dust getting inside, this piano still plays perfect. If you want a no frills, great quality, well built piano, don't look any further, this machine is it! Thank you Roland for an outstanding product!

Great Action, Dynamics, Size

Five months ago I bought the Roland FP-10 from Sweetwater. The follow up from Sunni was appreciated. Delivery time and packaging was beyond what I expected. This Roland Piano FP-10 changed my daily life. My intentions were that my main piano would be my main piano, and I would use a digital to help my wife sleep and work from home by my being able to use headphones and adjust volume, especially since I work nights. I now can play piano whenever I want, and on my nights off, I can play to my hearts content. My poor 1908 Cabinet Grand Piano gets very little play time now. It doesn't compare. I mean, it's old, but...

I am a much better piano player now, but perhaps playing two hours a day or whenever I want helps. The touch, the dynamics, the headphone sound (I'll get to sound in a bit), the size, the ease of portability, the fact that it is a Roland and I want more Roland brand stuff now. I added a Roland foot pedal, which I highly recommend. I added a sturdier stand since I often like to play standing up (can't do that on my beloved old piano).

The only improvement I can suggest is that the sound via headphones is amazing, and through external monitors is amazing, but through the onboard speakers is not to my pleasure. I'm no sound expert. Its selfish, but I wish I could get the headphone/external speaker/monitor sound without using headphones or external speakers. That is not the piano's fault. It's expected. The sound still exceeded my expectation, just in comparison... I don't have a studio. I have a family room. I try to keep it somewhat tidy, but adding external speakers or headphone are just a bunch of more wires getting tangled up around the piano. To keep things cleaner, I mostly use just the built in speakers. And they are just fine...really.

TLDR. The Roland FP-10 changed my life.

Phenomenal keyboard

This keyboard is perfect for me. I was replacing an old standard piano. The sound and touch on this keyboard is so close to a standard piano, I can hardly believe it. It's a pleasure to play. For my purposes, casual playing and practice, it has all the features I need. Very happy I chose the FP-10. And I never need to have it tuned. :)

Beautiful action

Real pianos have a complicated internal mechanism that pushes a hammer forward when you hit a key, and the key resistance reduces once the hammer is in motion. Many electronic keyboards don't reproduce this and so they feel fake, or at least not like a real piano. However, the Roland FP series has built in a similar mechanical action that makes it feel like a real piano, and it's a joy to play. It also sounds great, but lots of pianos in this price range do, but if you just want a reasonably priced electronic piano, this is for you.

Amazing Budget Piano!

Before purchasing this piano, I played a basic piano, no sensitive touch, no weighted keys. Just a basic digital piano.
However, after purchasing this piano, I would like to say. Buy it! If you are starting piano and are slowly leaning in becoming more serious in learning in piano. This piano is a must.

It's nicely weighted and the keys has a nice feel to them. The action on the keys are amazing and just really enhance the piano playing. The sound of the piano can be better but this is mostly due to the speakers being underneath the keyboard. This can be simply fixed with an external speaker system.

Overall, I would definitely get this piano if you are a beginner or advance and in a tight budget.
