The tradition continued with the FV-50 series, but today, the bar has been raised with BOSS's new FV-500L (low-impedance) and FV-500H (high-impedance) pedals. Solidly built and clean audio

I use this as stereo volume control for the overall stage mix of my keyboards. It's well-built, heavy (doesn't move around on the floor), and mechanically very smooth (nice action and holds position well). I've used it for almost a year and the sound remains clean with no audio noise when changing volume.

What's not to like?

As a keyboard guy and B3 owner, I've grown fairly used to having a volume pedal. My old friend the "Mu-tron" volume/wah finally died of old age, and its Morley replacement worked...OK....for a while.
The Boss FV-500L is virtually transparent in that it requires no power, makes no noise, has no discernible signal loss, and you simply plug in and out of it.
It has some mass to it, and a low profile so it doesn't move around or get tipped over while you're using it.
I like it.

Smooth, steady and sturdy

This is my second FV-500L. I bought the second one because of how well the first one works. I have mounted the two together to match and control the volumes of two keyboards. Because the in/out jacks are at the rear of the pedals they can be placed side by side and controlled together with one foot or separately if required. These pedals are built like tanks…

WOW!

I received my new FV500L pedal yesterday. Obviously, it's way too early to know how it will hold up over the long haul, but my initial reaction is that I'm super-impressed with this pedal! Just picking it out of the box and feeling how heavy it is tells me this thing is built to last, with it's cast aluminum construction. It operates silky-smooth, and the gain from minimum to maximum is perfectly, 100% linear. The minimum volume setting is a nice feature, and doesn't affect the linear gain at all, no matter where it's set. I especially like the pedal feel adjustment, which adjusts the mount of friction in the movement. I could set it to my exact liking. Bottom line: If you're a keyboard player, don't waste your time shopping around, just buy this one!

You could shoot at this pedal with 10 tanks and it would still stay intact! The FV-500L pedal works in many applications for a keyboard player and will last for years. Be sure to keep the 1/4" connections clean to ensure accurate and excellent sound quality.
