Stellar playability at a great price!

The Cordoba GK Studio nylon-string acoustic-electric guitar combines a fast-playing feel with traditional flamenco construction techniques for a remarkable playing experience. The GK Studio is built for tone, with cypress back and sides with a solid European spruce top. The mahogany neck is slightly thinner and narrower than traditional classical guitars for smooth playability. And the thinner body style is comfortable for players of any style. Not only do you get premium tonewoods, the GK Studio shows Cordoba's attention to detail with a hand-inlayed wood rosette and gold/black tuners with ebony buttons. You also get the Fishman Presys Blend pickup system built right in. For a highly playable guitar with some beautiful appointments, you'll love the Cordoba GK Studio.

Traditional design and construction

The Cordoba GK Studio doesn't skimp on construction. The GK Studio features traditional handmade classical guitar design, including the solid European spruce top with Spanish-style fan bracing. Fan bracing is preferred for flamenco guitars over lattice bracing, allowing the guitar's top to vibrate more freely while still providing evenly balanced tone.

Premium tonewoods

While the Cordoba GK Studio is inexpensive, Cordoba did not sacrifice quality materials. The Cypress back and sides set a powerful tonal foundation for the solid European spruce top, giving you the right balance of warmth and brightness. The neck is solid mahogany, for maximum transfer of string energy to the spruce top. A rosewood fingerboard and Indian rosewood bridge complete the elegant look.

Great look, great playability

The Cordoba GK Studio is gorgeous to simply look at, from the detailed hand-inlayed rosette and Indian rosewood binding to the gold/black tuners with ebony buttons. And you'll love how the gloss finish shows off the Cypress body and European spruce top. But looks aren't everything, the GK Studio was designed with playability in mind, and the great look is just the icing on the classical cake.

Cordoba GK Studio Nylon-string Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Great-sounding, fast-playing guitar at an amazing price
  • Traditional Spanish fan bracing provides a balanced, lively sound
  • Cypress back and sides for full-bodied frequency response
  • European spruce top for excellent definition and projection

The BEST nylon guitar I have ever played!!!

The small mods of this guitar (e.g.: thinner neck and nut, body cut to access higher frets, thinner body) make all the difference.
Absolutely a must if you're considering nylon guitars.
Music background: Amateur with big aspirations and going hard at it!

The Cordoba GK Studio is a great guitar.

I've owned two of these, one I bought damaged from another store and repaired and one I bought (barely used) for my brother. I also have set up a third one for a multi instrumentalist friend who plays with the Cincinnati Symphony. He bought his after playing mine. Of the three, mine is the best sounding, but the other two are close seconds. I use my GK for a wide variety of music: classical, folk, pop; pretty much anything I can play on a steel string. I don't play flamenco. Nylon string guitars are easier on the RH fingernails, can be more expressive, and work really well on certain songs in my repertoire. I string my GK with Savarez S.A. 500CJ New Cristal Corum Classical Guitar Strings - High Tension.
Music background: Advanced player, multi instrumentalist.

Beautiful instrument at a bargain price

I purchased the lefty version of this guitar, my first nylon string classical. I was really surprised how beautifully finished this guitar is for the price. The tone is great, the guitar is solid, and it looks terrific. I ordered it with the marching gator case, and the fit was good. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Customer service at Sweetwater is second to none, and a big shout out to a Jeff Rohlfing for helping me. Everyone mentions Sweetwater customer service in these reviews, and with good reason…this company is terrific and a joy to deal with.
