Exceptional sound in a portable package

The GT-1 is armed with BOSS's flagship-class GT sound engine, so it yields exceptional tone and incredible sound-shaping capabilities. There are 108 effects packed into the GT-1, ranging from classic stompboxes like the OD-1 Overdrive to modern MDP-powered effects. A plethora of COSM amp models is also at your fingertips. There's even a 32-second phrase looper onboard! BOSS's proprietary Adaptive Focus method improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the 24-bit converters. And everything is jammed into a 2-pound floor unit that fits easily in your gig bag's accessory compartment.

Streamlined interface makes choosing and tweaking patches a piece of cake

When we tested out the BOSS GT-1 here at Sweetwater, we found that it's child's play to navigate around its streamlined interface. Beginners can discover cool tones right away, and experienced guitarists can dial in advanced parameters quickly and intuitively. Select patches by genre, distortion, or effect type with the Easy Select function. Effortlessly tweak drive, modulation, and echo tones with the Easy Edit function. Clearly laid-out panel buttons provide quick on/off switches for effect groups and unlock deeper parameters for fine-tuning your sound. A backlit LCD makes monitoring your parameters a breeze.

Footswitches and external jacks pack maximum control into a small space

Achieve control over patch selection, tuner access, looper control, and more with the BOSS GT-1's footswitches. The freely assignable control switch serves as a tap tempo, effects on/off, and more. The onboard expression pedal manipulates volume, wah, and other effects parameters. Increase the GT-1's capabilities with up to two external footswitches. Or add a second expression pedal for more real-time control. You can also plug the GT-1 directly into your DAW via USB for recording and re-amping.

BOSS Tone Central and BOSS Tone Studio expand your capabilities

Download free patch collections for your GT-1 from BOSS Tone Central. These patches were crafted by professional guitarists and are dialed in and ready to use. They also make great starting points for players who want to craft their own custom sounds. The free BOSS Tone Studio editor/librarian software provides integrated access to all of BOSS Tone Central's patch collections.

Boss GT-1

Enjoying this purchase has all the effects you need sounds great when you consider most stomp pedals these days are $ and up this was a no brainer.

Amazing for the price

Got the floor model to try out. Most presets are overly processed. But with some tweaking I was able to obtain so many great amp models. For the price I am more than satisfied. I wanted a small, compact , lightweight unit to play with headphones. The massive arena sounds I am getting are beyond fun. So, I also ordered a Roland Go mixer ProX. Connected my iPhone drum machine app and recorded many riffs ….posted results on a few guitar forums. Everyone posts….my gosh, what stack are you using? Love the Boss exclusive Power Driver amp model. Throw in a little Tara Delay, light chorus and we are in DefLeppard Hyseria land!

Don't wast your time with batteries, last me about an hour. Tried numerous chargers..all buzzed, ordered the Boss one…dead silent. Many YouTube videos if you are struggling with the useless manual. For the price, how on earth can you beat it. People get frustrated because they try using modelers thru amps. You really have to go direct to the house PA or headphones to get the direct sound. I got a Mackie headphone amp. Can hook up 4 headphones to it for friends to listen to you. Great little product.

Best small pedal on the market

I originally had purchased the Boss GT-100 pedal and loved their set up of saving patches, being able to use the ASSIGNS to add tones to the presets and just create clean, a first drive and a second overdrive lead tone in one patch. Alter the Reverb or Amp Sims. It didn't matter, it did it all. So when I started looking for something small just to carry around, I found the GT-1 had all the same tonal options in a small portable pedal. It has the same sound engine as the GT-100 so I could create the same presets I had in my bigger board.
After buying the Boss BCB 90X Pedalboard/Case and installing the GT-1 with my Boss FS-7 footswitch, I added a Boss RC-5 Loop Station and I realized this was going to be my main board.
This pedal does it all!

Awesomeness in a small package

A great little multiple effects unit very versatile once you get used to navigating around it and using it. Plus being able to run on four double A batteries and it having a small footprint a win win for me !

Sounds great, and Easy to use!

Just out of the box, this is a great sounding unit. There are some very usable tones to choose from with the preloaded patches, and you have plenty of room to tweak those tones and then save them as your own tone patches. This may be a beginner unit but it offers a lot for someone with needs versatility and portability both. This unit fits in a gig bag, also has an easily accessed (accurate) tuner and can run on AA's if need be.
