Ip1000 x2 plus Ip500

I have three of the Ip columns, 2 of the Ip1000's (one old one new) and an Ip500. The 1000's are used in an old rock band (50's), an occasional pickup type band, open mics, and for jams at the house. These replaced a pair of Mackie SRM450's, which are good speakers as well.

The Ip1000's I use in pairs for bands, and have used the 500 for a monitor at times, and also at small open mics. The Ip500 will work with only the top half of the column inserted, which is where all the high and mid speakers are located. I have used it that way for monitors.

The strangest thing about these speakers is the dispersion pattern. They go out to about 180 degrees in the horizontal, but the highs actually start rolling off earlier, maybe at 120 degrees. Somehow the column brings the vertical dispersion way down to a narrow band. As a result they do not drop off as fast when you move away from the stage. You also don't get as much reflection off of the ceiling, which is great in a long hall type venue. But you get more off the walls with that wide horizontal dispersion.

As a result of all that, when given the choice, I prefer to set up in the middle of the long wall in a rectangular room. On the short end there is more bounce than normal off of the side walls (in a narrow room end) but that is not as much problem in a wide room set up. (Could be the same room with the band in a different location).

I've got the Ip500 setup in my living room corner for practice. Both columns are great for outside work as the sound seems to drop off a lot slower. I haven't had any technical issues with these. I don't use the bluetooth functions much, which may be why I don't have problems.

Lightweight, Compact, Reliable and Sounds Excellent!

I wrote another review for the IP2000 - I own both. They're both excellent. I have well over 150 gigs and rehearsals with our acoustic group using these. They've never let me down. They fill the venue with crystal clear, legible sound without being directional. We play mainly brewpubs and beer gardens in mountain towns. They've been out in all kinds of weather - sudden rain storms, direct sun for hours, even outside at a ski area stage in winter - and have operated flawlessly.

I highly recommend the IP1000 and the IP2000. They're both super powerful and should be enough for most bands, singer songwriters, presenters, etc.,

I have been using Turbosound for years! LOVE them!

When I was looking for easy to carry around FOH, I did what everyone should do-ask your Sweetwater sales engineer (Carson McClain!) I was thinking of Bose, and Carson said you should really give these a look (Turbosound) - Carson is always right and I trust him implicitly. That was years ago. I can ABSOLUTELY rely on the consistent quality sound and reliability. I also use the Turbosound system discretely for the audio output from my Roland V-Drums, and also link the outputs into the studio mix inputs.

Have 2 been using for about 6 years so amazing always get compliments

I'm not gonna lie, I have abused these things, dropped them, had them roll, got them soaked, you name it here playing on the water in Florida in the harsh environment for the past 6 years probably around 7-800 gigs with them still going strong still sound great , u need to get a good mixer but that was no problem always complimented on the sound. They don't sound like Bose and even Bose players want to know what we have. We have 2 and we wouldn't go with anything else.

Exactly what I was looking for

Been gigging for 10 years and I started with a Behringer PA system. When I decided it was time for an upgrade to powered speakers I did some research and found it iP1000. I'm in multiple bands but my main band is an AC/DC tribute band and I wasn't sure these speakers could deliver what we needed. But they do, 1000 watts of power and nice subs. You get very little feedback even when they are position towards the back of the stage.
Like the bluetooth feature allowing me to stream music between sets. People who come see us are always amazed at the sound quality these speakers deliver.
