My favorite stand

I now own four of these well-engineered and made stands. I use them for both acoustic and electric guitars. I own numerous other manufacturers' guitar stands, but the K&M 17580 is my favorite design. I plan on replacing the others with K&M's in the future.

Excellent Stand

I am reviewing the K&M 17580 Heli 2 Acoustic Guitar Stand model. I wanted a guitar stand where the guitar would sit as vertically as possible (so that I could safely put the guitar closer to walls, furniture or amps). Thankfully, the guitar does sit in this stand much more vertically than in most stands and I am satisfied. It even works for electrics as the rubber grips so firmly that you can set the electric to the back of the stand without it being at any risk of sliding forward. The company brags about the quality of the rubber in its instruction manual and it is a step beyond most.

Looking at the picture it looks as if you can adjust the vertical tilt, but in fact you cannot. You *can* adjust the width however making the A frame narrower for very small instruments (the are 4 settings; the manual specifically mentions cellos and french horns as examples). The fullest width works for full sized acoustic and even electric guitars however, so most will not need this feature and the fuller width provides the best stability.

If there is any downside to this stand, it's that the flat bar along the lower back could make it unusable on some uneven surfaces that a basic 3 point stand would work on. That said, by preventing you from placing it on top of cables and other stage hazards, it may save you from an accident.

Great Stand

I keep one of these in the living room. When I'm not using it, it folds flat and I can slip it out of the way. I used to keep a Hercules stand in the living room, and while the Hercules is a sturdier, safer stand, I can't just put it away when I'm not using it like I can this one.

When I pull out a guitar to play, I can set it on the K&M stand, no matter if it's acoustic, solid body electric, or thin body semi-acoustic. Whatever guitar I want to set in there stays in there.

a no-brainer.

i own a couple of these, and work at a music shop that uses these almost exclusively for floor-standing guitars. i'm surprised this isn't the most highly-rated guitar stand on Sweetwater. i love these. they fold up (and click shut!) for easy transport. they're very solid, rubberized to protect guitar finishes, and wildly convenient. we use these for $10,000+ guitars without hesitation. a real no-brainer for home and gigs. pick up a few!

small stable acoustic stand

German-made, german quality stand , light but stable and strong, inexpensive , foldable, portable, packable.
Best stand of its type I have used .
I have 7 acoustics, all in various stands, several of this general type.
I will order a few of these from Sweetwater once I am back in the USA.
