Sounds great, pairs well with a C414b XLII

I got this mic to experiment with a Blumlein pair. I've got a C414b XLII but am too cheap to spend that kind of money for a 2nd one. I know this Lewitt isn't a perfect stereo matched pair with the AKG but it sounds close enough to do a Blumlein pair for acoustic guitar. This sounds so good I will get a second one for an even better match. The patterns are great. Tone is great. Price is great. Self-noise is great. It's a full 1" diaphragm multi-pattern with reverse patterns which can be very convenient when putting the front of the mic right up against a grill cloth. You can put the mic facing backwards so you can see the L.E.D.s and buttons but just use a reverse polar pattern.

Only minor gripe is the shock-mount design prevents the mic from being turned. The mic always has to face the direction of the mount, unlike the shock-mount that comes with my C414b in which the mic can turn. That makes positioning for Blumlein on a single stand a little more difficult but it's still good. I use a Triad-Orbit O2 but have to add a pair of M2 orbitals due to the shock-mount mic turning limitation. It's not a big enough deal to knock anything off this rating since the mic is what I'm giving 5 stars, not the mount.
