Unveils Every Detail in Your Mix

Featuring a refined amplifier design, the Kali Audio LP-6 V2 is among the most accurate studio monitors you’ll find in its price range — in fact, it stands up to speakers that far exceed the modest price tag. The LP-6 V2 unveils every detail in your mix — it’s brutally honest. Nothing is boosted or attenuated to mask flaws or spice up its sound: what you hear is what you get. In addition to a ruler-flat frequency response, the LP-6 V2 exhibits negligible levels of distortion, ample headroom, and impressive low-end extension for a 6.5-inch speaker. Experience a massive soundstage with spot-on imaging, courtesy of the LP-6 V2’s cutting-edge waveguide design, while its low-noise port tube yields clean, punchy bass. Plus, it sounds excellent in a myriad of environments, thanks to its boundary compensation EQ. At the end of the day, you need a studio monitor that you can trust — and the Kali Audio LP-6 V2 delivers on all fronts.

Second-generation refinements yield sonic excellence

Despite so many rave reviews among studio engineers, Kali Audio saw room for improvement with the LP-6's already impressive sonic signature. The LP-6 V2 features a refined amplifier design that lowers the noise floor even further than it was, and offers a smoother high frequency response too. The LP-6 V2's Boundary EQ settings have been tweaked based on user feedback, enhancing transparency when your monitors are positioned close to a wall or on a desktop. And with the LP-6 V2’s lower-mass woofer design, you’ll experience even more detail and clarity in the bass regions.

Transparent sound reproduction for mixes you can trust

The LP-6 V2 offers ultra-transparent sound reproduction, enabling you to hear every detail of your mix. This starts with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. There’s nothing hyped about this speaker: its dual-layer, large-diameter voice coil exhibits a crystal-clear sound with negligible distortion — a full 6dB lower than its nearest competitor. At continuous reference-level output, the LP-6 V2 boasts at least 20dB of headroom to allow for transient spikes. What’s more, this studio monitor employs larger magnets and voice coils than others in its class, resulting in super-accurate low-end response and impressive low-frequency extension. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that the LP-6 V2 empowers you to mix with confidence. Once you dial in your music on a set of these monitors, it will sound great everywhere.

Cutting-edge waveguide design yields rock-solid imaging

When you listen to a speaker, you hear both its direct sound and its reflections. When the reflections are consistent with the direct sound, the speaker sounds better. Its stereo image will sound three-dimensional, enabling you to observe subtle details such as spatial information and microphone placement. The Kali Audio LP-6 V2’s cutting-edge waveguide design minimizes unwanted reflections, thereby preventing the smeared sound stage that’s inherent in many low-cost studio monitors. With the LP-6 V2, you’ll know the exact location of every instrument in your mix’s stereo field. This will also you to mix faster, and produce better results.

Low-noise port tube exhibits clean, punchy low end

One of the LP-6 V2’s most novel features is its low-noise port tube. Many port tubes emit turbulence, as air leaves the tube at different speeds from different points of the opening. This turbulence produces chuffing, a noisy sound that obscures the low-end details of your mix. The LP-6 V2’s port tube, on the other hand, ensures that all of the air exits at the same velocity. The end result is clean, punchy bass with zero added noise.

Boundary EQ ensures optimal sound in any environment

A speaker’s position in a room drastically affects its frequency response. Even if your room is acoustically treated, your studio monitor’s sound will change if you place it near a wall or on a desk. What’s more, hard surfaces like walls and the top of your console will skew your monitor’s frequency response, degrade its sound, and give you false auditory information. The engineers at Kali Audio understand this, and they baked a solution directly into the LP-6 V2: its Boundary EQ. Tuned to perfection at The Village Studios in Los Angeles, the LP-6 V2’s Boundary EQ supplies you with presets that are tailored to eight common speaker placements. You also get LF/HF trims for fine-tuning the speaker’s response. With the LP-6 V2, you’ll be able to optimize its response, no matter what environment you’re mixing in.

First Studio monitors (Podcasts, Audio Dramas, Sound Design)

I had been mixing on headphones and consumer Klipsch speakers for a while but after doing more and more sound design for the projects I was working on, I really felt like what I was creating never sounded the way I wanted outside of headphone use.
So I decided to hunt for some affordable monitors. I was really torn between the KALI, JBL and ADAM monitors in the same price range.
I had the chance to audition the JBL and ADAM monitors. They both sounded great, but I felt the JBLs were boosting the low end and high end a bit much for my personal tastes. Because I'm dealing with lots of explosions, gunfire and horror-type sound fx, I opted for KALI because of the larger woofer.
Once Caleb from Sweetwater hooked me up with them, I put them on stands and followed the guidance from their YouTube videos on placement according to my listening position and I was impressed right away. The stereo field is quite amazing. It took me a while to adjust to not having the subwoofer from the consumer speakers, but I'm doing the majority of my editing and mixing on monitors instead of headphones for the first time in years.

My ears are really happy.
Thanks!

Kali Audio LP-6V2 6.5- inch powered studio monitors - EXCELLENT!!

I bought these in hopes that I would be able to spot areas in the songs I was writing and recording for a CD. I'm blown away by the difference in sound between the Kali monitors and the PreSonus 3" powered monitors I was using. I have them both setup on my system so I can A-B them and discover where the differences are. The PreSonus monitors are good, and they were what I could afford at the time, but the Kali's are so much more accurate I was astounded. I also purchased monitor stands so I could get all the speakers off the cardboard boxes I was using to position the speakers. I was first amazed at the size of the Kali's, they are three times the size of the PreSonus monitors and a lot heavier. I set the din pins so that the response was flat across the spectrum and would give a flat response. I expected better bass response from the Kali's but they are way better than I was looking for.
All in all, excellent monitors for the money. I have had more expensive monitors on previous systems in the past, and these are as good as any I have used.

Excellent for project studio

In October 2020 I had to move to the US, and decided to sell my project studio, for it was too expensive to pay transport for keboards, monitors, stands etc.
I found myself with a limited budget, a great passion and no one to get advice from, facing huge array of gear.
After many tedious weeks of browsing and documentation, I thought I made my mind, called Sweetwater and wanted to order. To these days I am thankful for running into Erick, who took the time to discuss gear and options and offer good guidance. I ended up with a pair of Kali Audio (and not other options I had in mind, more well-known brands).
To this day my monitors do the job, I get mixes as good as I can be, because they give me good reference and no "sugarcoated" sound. I love the switch on the back, which optimizes sound according to where you do place the monitors (against a wall, on a stand etc). Keep in mind that my rating implies a budget and years of project studio recording.
Even if my space is not properly optimized, as it is a temporary rent (yeah, no significant mods allowed :(( ), I still manage to mix and master decently. Also my guitar pre-amp/processor sounds just great through them, which is a proof that they are flat-response, as my previous FRFR speakers were.
Very happy with my purchase and planning to keep them even at some point I will certainly make an upgrade, once my studio will be stable in my own home. Sweetwater, I am thinking Genelec with Smart Active Monitoring Technology, wadd'ya say? :)

These Sound Amazing!!

Got these today and I'm amazed by how great they sound. Firstly, they are super loud in my medium sized, so if you were worried about that and wanted 8inch monitors for loudness, you can still get loudness with these monitors. Secondly, there isnt a hiss unless your ear is 3cm away from the monitors, and even there, its slightly noticeable. I heard my friend's V1 monitors and the hiss was unbearable, but on these V2's, trust me, you wont hear a thing, they got rid of that problem.
Thirdly and most importantly, The bass is amazing. I'm a hip hop based engineer and artist, so trust me when i say if you're in a small room, you dont need an 8inch monitor for bass, these will give you all the bass you need.
These monitors also look good, trust me.
I've tried the KrK Rokit 7s and Yamaha Hs8s , but i went with these for price over the
HS8's, and overall performance over the Rokit 7s

Great sound. Great value.

These things are awesome. Easy to set up. Sound as good as speakers twice their price. Great value for money.

I liked them so much, I went back to Sweetwater and got the WS-12 subwoofer to pair with them, and now the room really rocks.
