I would suggest this mic stand to anyone. I don't think there's anything better until you go to Latch Lake stands. They are not light, but they do not break easily. Use and abuse mine constantly.

As a church sound guy and drummer, I've had to deal with more than my fair share of lousy mic stands. This one is great. Doesn't collapse when i put it up high and extended over my drum kit. The leg housing and boom attachment are all metal. The only potential downside is it's pretty heavy. But I'm going to mostly just keep it in my drum room holding an overhead. And when I come down the next day, it's in the exact same spot, not collapsed on my rack tom.

i bought one of these nearly a decade ago, and it has been sturdy and indestructible - there's not much more you can ask for. i have purchased three since then, and all of my high dollar mics hang off of them. unless you're hanging overheads ten feet in the air, these will do just about everything, and last forever. I have been frustrated by cheap plastic mounts and stands recently, and these stands will give you none of that. two thumbs up

Finally a stand that will hold up. Quality materials, solid build.

I love this mic stand. It stays at the angle I want even fully extended without having to over-tighten the clutch. It's only about $10 more than everyone else's value stand and SO MUCH BETTER.
