Tweaked for Maximum Performance

The Matrix Infinity VT is the latest evolution of Fishman's flagship Matrix series, and it delivers the clear, transparent tone that the company is known for. It all starts with the Acoustic Matrix, Fishman's best-selling under-saddle pickup. A redesigned, sealed enclosure for the Infinity VT's soundhole-mounted Volume and Tone controls make adjusting your sound effortless. A soft-touch endpin-mounted preamp offers top-notch sound and touch response. The Tone control cuts mids while boosting treble and bass. Beyond that, a voicing switch accommodates your guitar's body size and performance situation. The Matrix Infinity VT employs solderless connections for easy installation.

Result of over two decades of R&D

Resulting from over two decades of collective R&D, the Matrix Infinity VT offers exceptional musicality, superb balance from string to string, absolute accuracy and ease of installation. Starting with the popular Acoustic Matrix pickup as a point of departure, the Matrix Infinity VT includes a soft-touch endpin-mounted preamp for a sophisticated level of sound quality and responsiveness to your touch.

Exceptional sound and versatility

Key to the evolved design of the Matrix Infinity VT is soundhole-mounted rotary Volume and Tone controls that allow you to make easily accessible dynamic and tonal adjustments. The Tone control cuts mids while boosting the bass and treble response to enhance the tonal characteristic and impact of any amplified acoustic guitar, from classical nylon string instruments to Dreadnought and Jumbo acoustic models. Taking the pickup's tonal variation capability one step further, the Matrix Infinity also incorporates a switchable voicing feature to accommodate all guitar body sizes and different performance situations in one pickup.

Four models available

Exceptionally roadworthy, the Matrix Infinity VT is available in two saddle slot widths — a wide 1/8" format (Gibson) or narrow 3/32" format (Martin). A Split format is available for instruments with two saddles (Lowden) — a short one for the E and B strings, and a longer one for the remaining four strings. You can also get a ukulele version. The Matrix Infinity VT requires a 9V battery (not included) and professional installation is recommended.

Great sound and response for live performance

I got one of these many years ago to put in an old Gibson LG-1 and loved the way it sounded. I loved it so much that I sold off all of my LR Baggs sound hole pickups and replaced them with the Matrix Infinity pickups. It made off of the guitars pretty uniform in their volume levels, they worked really well whether it was with a 6-string or 12-string acoustic and made it through years of touring with no real issues.

After one died 6 years into service, I got newest version and it works just as well as the other ones. I'm guessing mine died due to a wire guide coming off, which left the piezo element's cord swinging inside the body while on tour this summer, so I don't really blame them. A piece of gaffer's tape in the short term would have fixed it.

The only thing I hear regularly that could be a negative is sound techs saying they have to use more gain or move the volume slider up higher to get stage volume, but it does nothing to the tone of the pickup nor does it cause the signal to break up. I'm a hard strummer and it never distorts with this pickup system, so I love that attribute.

Buy it! And when you install it, get some small cable ties and use the wire guides included to keep all the wiring stable. Enjoy!

Fishman pick up

This extra accessory makes my Raimundo guitar one sweet instrument to play. The sound from the amp with the special effects makes this guitar a real joy to play. The Fishman electronic pick up does wonders for this guitar and the adjustments on the pick up make for an elegant sound befitting a Spanish guitar of exceptional build quality. I would say if you have even an old Spanish guitar sitting around in the house you will enjoy putting a Fishman pick up on it. It develops a whole new sound that a classical guitarist will like! Thanks Sweetwater!

Fishman For Life!!!

The only thing there is to say is ( besides the incredible service from Ben Robinson), Fishman makes the Very Best under saddle pickup to date!!! Period!!! The VT is even better with it"s sealed housings for both pre-amp and tone/volume controls.
I started out 35 plus years ago using Fishman "stick on" transducer pickups then went to the Fishman Matrix Natural 1, used that for years and years and then the Fishman Matrix Infinity and now the Fishman Matrix Infinity VT. I play nylon strings "Willie" style with a flat pick and have the Fishman Matrix VT in my 1963 Gibson my 1964 Gibson and will be installing a Fishman Matrix in my 1964 Gibson that is on its way as I write this!!!
You just can"t match Fishman for "gigging out" where amplification is needed!!! And with Sweetwater"s impeccable service (Ben Robinson) and return policy why go anywhere else? Thank You Ben and Sweetwater, you have a customer for life!!!
