In love with these sticks

I got these as part of a larger order of various sticks I wanted to try out. These Neil Peart sticks have become my go to for everything now. They have a great balance to them and just feel so nice. I'm a hard hitting metal drummer and these sticks brush off hard rim shots like they're nothing and the tips, after about a year of heavy use, still look almost brand new. The weight allows you to really lean into the drums with ease, but they can also be really subtle when you need them (I'd feel comfortable using these for jazz). I know the fact that the heavier weight of oak may make people weary of the speed you can get from them but it's not an issue at all. The tapering and diameter are just perfect so that it isn't an issue. Fast blast beats and jazz ride beats are super easy with them. 100% recommend for any style of music. I even use them for church, high school concert band, and a little samba Mardi Gras group. Honestly can't recommend a better stick.

The sticks of the Master.

I got these for my brother for his birthday. He and I are big Rush fans. Neil Peart was an exacting, brilliant drummer. Everything he did was on purpose and he was a perfectionist at technique and sound.
These sticks reflect that outlook: They are balanced just so, just the right amount of weight, and wooden tips. Will these make you sound like Peart? Not necessarily. Can you benefit from the mind that developed the subtleties incorporated in these sticks? Yes.
Music background: 35 year hobby.

The Perfect Wooden Stick

I have to admit I have a small addiction of trying out just about any drum stick I can get my hands on, and out of all the different sticks I have ever played with, these are BY FAR the best drum stick I have ever used! They seem almost unbreakable, I have had them for some time now and haven't even left a mark yet! They have impeccable balance and the absolute perfect weight. I use them for everything, from dynamic soft playing at church to any metal song, these have never let me down and the tip is extremely solid, thick, and well balanced with the rest of the stick which makes it that much easier and more comfortable to use for ride bells and snare work. I absolutely recommend and I cannot think of one negative about these even if I tried!
Music background: Drummer of about a year who takes some lessons but is also largely self taught through stuff like Drumeo and listening to songs by ear

Absolutely amazing stick

Never been a wood tip fan till I played with these, amazing crisp sound on the cymbals durable and the stout feel of oak make for fantastic playing and sound! Used several types of stick and I will forever be a fan of these.

Living Up To Their Reputation

I prefer the Promark 747 series of drumsticks because of their length and diameter; they are American made modified 5A's with a wood tip, and I have tried out several versions of these sticks. I was playing with the American hickory TX747W's when the Shira Kashi Oak signature series PW747W's went on sale at Christmas, so I bought 12 pair and decided to give them a try. I still played some of the hickory pairs randomly amongst the new oak sets through the next year at church, rehearsals, etc.
One year later I've been convinced the Shira Kashi sticks are tougher and last longer than the American hickory sticks; especially the tips. the Oak tips seemed to hold their shape longer whereas the hickory tips tended to chip in a narrow north south indention. the Shira Kashi sticks have a high finish on them and I think this helps with the weight and durability of these drumsticks. Another reviewer said they haven't broken one of these drumsticks; I haven't either. Eventually use wears the oak tips so small that it throws off the balance of the stick and the pair is removed from rotation.
These Japanese oak 747's have become my sticks of choice, so right now during services I'm only playing Promark Shira Kashi Oak signature 747's.
