Solid deal

A no-nonesense device that delivers what the ads claim! I use it in line with my Fishman Loudbox amp, and get a much truer, studio quality acoustic sound for live performance.
Not to mention Sweetwater's fast delivery of product, overall customer service and follow-up support/assistance.
All in all, a reasonably priced solid deal.

The anchor of my pedal board 5 years running

I play acoustic and electric mandolin and guitar, and the platinum pro-eq is essential to shaping my tone. (My dad also uses one for stand up bass for bluegrass). With the great amount of variation between my instruments, the compressor and brilliance settings are essential for keeping things even keeled. The boost switch gives me a little extra for solos or driving my overdrives. Well worth the price.

I use mine as a pre-amp for recording acoustic guitar and bass guitar. Clean sound, generous levels and a ton of flexibility.

5 Years and still running

This is everything I needed as an upright player, and sounds fantastic.

As for the build quality : I bought this in 2015. It's been used 2-3 times every week at various bar and wedding gigs throughout those 5 years. It's had beer spilt on it. It's been thrown at the bottom of a gear bag. It's been tripped on by drunk girls trying to talk to the band. You name it. This thing just keeps on working great. The violin player in my band just got one and we laughed at how the color of mine is so different from all the years of abuse. While my bandmate's DIs (different brands) keep breaking and being replaced, mine keeps on trucking.

If mine ever gives out, I'll come right back and buy another. Couldn't be happier with it's performance over all these years!

Really Does The Job!!!

The Platinum Pro EQ/DI is perfect for someone like me that doesn't like memory banks, computer app controls or a lot of bells and whistles. Simple controls that really work is what this is. Since receiving it, I have ran the Fishman Neo D, Rare Earth, both Telecaster/Strat Power Bridge and Archtop Bridge Piezo pickups. Also Seymour Duncan Woody Single Coil and Humbucker, L R Baggs MI passive and active. Even tried K & K. Barcus Berry and Dean Markley stick on transducers. They all worked very well by simply adjusting the settings. Also works well with Taylor Expression and other onboard preamp systems if you flatten the onboard EQ. Really like the tuner and compression tools. Wish I had bought one sooner!
