Get That "Roto" Sound!

Rotosound is one of the first string companies to produce round-wound stainless steel bass strings. Introduced in 1962 Swing Bass strings changed the sound of the electric bass instantly. The favorite string of many players including Billy Sheehan, John Paul Jones and Geddy Lee, Rotosound strings are available in all popular gauges and scale lengths. The steel used to produce these strings is unique, combined with a highly secretive manufacturing process. If you're looking for bass stings with a responsive feel and vibrant tone you can depend on, you need Rotosound Swing Bass round-wound stainless steel strings.

These are THE Bass Strings.

You can use whatever you want, but NOTHING sounds like these. Ive been using them 52 years. When I first bought them they were $9.75 a set!

I am not going to ramble on, no need to,, THESE ARE THS BEST BASS STRINGS ON EARTH. PERIOD.

Nothing compares to Roto's

Iv'e been playing for a while .Not a pro by any mean's .More of a weekend warrior. but iv'e tried a lot of strings and always come back to these. despite quality issues, dead E strings mainly .I'll live with it No other strings will give you the tone you get from Roto's .A side note .I always get the freshest strings from Sweetwater as opposed to buying from local shops.Which sometime's i have to .Thank's James

Great strings if you wanna rock!

Much like a certain sauce associated with a man named Frank. I put these strings on everything, always. These strings just work! No gimmicks or weird flashy marketing, just good o'l rough meaty bass strings for any time you need some sparkle in your life.

Great Strings!!!!

When I first started playing, around 1990, I started using Rotosounds. Around this time in history, was not the best for Rotosound, and I got a bunch of dead strings right out of the box. For years and years, I find a good compromise with DR Hi Beams and Fat Beams as being a good bright string with good longevity. But something was still missing, in terms of aggression and bite, and the lower tension of the DRs would only allow for the action to get so low before you'd end up with fret buzz.

So recently, and knowing that Rotosound Swing Bass have a tone I like, I wanted to check and see if the consistency had really improved and if they were still a good option for me. Well, I fell back in love. The low mids are so much more present and they have a bit more "note" and definition. It's an overall thicker sound than I had with the DRs. I won't lie, they are gritty feeling and I have found the need to clean the strings more often to keep the tone bright and zingy. My experience in the past with Rotosounds, was don't expect more than a week or two with good zingy string response.... But this time with proper wiping and cleaning I am coming up on a month....and that's with at least an hour per day average of play time.
