Fender Rumble 500 Bass Combo Amp at a Glance:
  • Sound-shaping and more
  • More than just a solid performance tool
  • A pair of 10" speakers for punch
Sound-shaping and more

The Rumble 500 Combo's 4-band EQ helps to shape your sound, and the 3-button voicing palette sculpts the sound further. Choose between bright (adds a treble "zing" to the sound), contour (low-end boost), or vintage (classic bass tone with deep lows and vintage character). These give you a ton of flexibility to find your signature sound. The XLR line output can pump the tone you love straight into the PA for bigger gigs. This will make your sound tech happy, since it'll greatly simplify getting you pumped into the PA. Need a little extra teeth for a particular song or passage? The Rumble 500's built-in overdrive has your back. Get the optional footswitch for instant onstage convenience.

More than just a solid performance tool

The Rumble 500 Combo isn't just about performance, though; it helps you practice. It's stuffed with a handy aux input that you can plug your iPod, laptop, drum machine, or other practice gear into. And there's a 1/4" headphone jack, so you can practice late into the night.

A pair of 10" speakers for punch

Fender loaded the Rumble 500 with a pair of 10" speakers - the perfect choice for making sure your bass punches through the mix.

Fender Rumble 500 Bass Combo Amp Features:
  • 500 watts for serious stage presence
  • Dual 10" speakers deliver strong punch
  • Vintage vibe with modern features
  • Footswitchable overdrive for extra aggression (footswitch available separately)

Completely blown away!!!

I'm 44 and have been playing in bands since i was 16. I also teach a rock band program at a public school in Brooklyn.

Last week my college bandmates and I got together for a weekend of jamming and recording some new stuff. I had a small 350 watt ampeg head and a peavey cabinet. The ampeg kept flashing a "fault" light (this happened a few times the last 3 sessions) and no matter what I read and tried it kept happening. I play a passive fender American jazz and a passive/ active fender ultra Pbass.

From the moment I turned this thing on I was completely blown away. Crisp sound. Cool vintage option and 2 mid controls. By the end of the weekend and couldn't believe ild gone so many years playing through a substandard setup that I thought was good because it had the "ampeg" name on it. 2 more things: this thing was so light when I picked it up I almost threw it in the air, also I never put the volume past '3' and that's with a live drum set, 2 guitars, 2 singers and a keyboard.

Just buy this.

Six years and thumping right along!

Six plus years ago, I wanted to downsize my bass rig and hopefully not sacrifice too much in the way of volume and "thump". After looking over the combo marketplace, I decided to try the Fender Rumble 500 based on features, weight, power, and of course, price. I have been delighted with the combo.....and fellow bandmates have been amazed at the performance. Plenty of great low-end oomph from this unit! I purchased an extension 15" cabinet thinking I might need it for "bigger" shows. Nope! I've probably only used the extension cabinet a half dozen times, because the 2X10, 500 watts has been PLENTY.....especially with a line out! Been very reliable and has held up well. Can't say enough about the, as I like to describe it, "loud to weight" ratio! 35 pounds....old bassist friendly. When this one goes to combo heaven, I will likely get another.

Great amp

I've had this amp for a while now gigging full-time both inside and outside in the excruciating heat of the Texas summer and the recent big freeze, I can't find anything negative to say about it. It has a great tone and more power than most bass players would ever need. It truly does "rumble". Thanks for recommending it Gage and Sweetwater.

Great Amp! One of the best in its class!

I have this combo amp along with the Bugera BXD15A. This is a great lightweight combo that gets really loud. It easily rattles the walls in my house! I love the features of this combo such as the defeatable horn and the bright, contour, and vintage buttons. My only gripe about this amp is that I feel that it does not handle my downtuned (D-Standard) P Bass as well as the Bugera. When I play my standard tuned P Bass, this is the amp that I go with. It is more than loud enough to keep up with a heavy hitting drummer and the weight makes it twice as nice! The tone of the Rumble series amps is the reason I keep going back to them. You can literally set it, forget it, and have a great tone no matter the bass. Overall this is a great sounding, lightweight, and reliable combo that I would highly recommend to any gigging bass player.

New Way of doing it....

Get this combo and the 210 extension cab and it's all you need to play small clubs to bigger places like House of Blues or The Glasshouse. In reality they're going to DI you or mic so this stack with adding the 210 cover it all.
