Nice product

You could pay a lot more for a competing product, but may not to quantify any difference in terms of value vs quality. Several competitors offer a few more bells & whistles, but for my money it does more that I need & is user friendly.

Music background: Pro level

A powerful & versatile tool

For years I used an all-tube Ampeg Portaflex, weighing in at close to 100 pounds. Now that I am a more "experienced" bassist, I no longer wish to carry heavy gear. The Tech 21 VT Bass DI pedal allows me to get that warm, "round sound" from my new, lightweight Trace Elliot ELF rig. What's really cool is that I can run my signal to the front of house & my amp simultaneously using the XLR & 1/4" outs. At my last gig, my band & the sound staff commented on the great tone of the pedal in the monitors & mains. You could just as easily use this as a stand alone piece for live or recording applications. The character knob convincingly dishes up SVT & Fliptop tones. Add speaker emulation and/or some drive & you can replicate the most sought after classic bass sounds of the past. The Tech 21 VT Bass DI is like the secret weapon in my set up. If you're after warm, vintage tones & your current rig isn't cutting it, try this powerful & versatile tool. You won't regret this purchase, even if you only use it as a back up. Enjoy!

Sansamp VT Bass DI - The Best Of Them All

I'd been reading reviews and watching all the videos I could find on this device and was anticipating on buying one this coming summer, but saw Sweetwater had only 2 left... I just had to grab one! I have two other Sansamp Bass DIs (DI 2112 and the original BDDI w/sliders, no mid) and I've found the VT DI to have the most usable selection of tones (or just easier to achieve) over the other two for my desires - tho' the others are wonderful too. I can't think of anything to criticize; it exceeded expectations. Thanks to Norb Berninger at Sweetwater for satisfying this order and all the others over the years. He's been truly fantastic every single time. I never see his name mentioned in reviews; time to remedy that! Cheers Tech 21 and Sweetwater!

So much versatility in a small package.

I run mostly direct. I use one, always on, for a bit of tube emulation and massive tone control available if I need it. I start out with tone controls in the middle (flat). I would definitely recommend this flavor of SansAmp.

VT Bass DI - Just buy it!

If what you are looking for is that classic svt sound without the 90lb head and refrigerator sized cabinet, this is for you! Phantom power when you go direct, plenty of tone control, plus cabinet emulation. I run both direct and into a Hartke bass combo & it is a real game changer. Order this bass pre/DI with confidence, you won't be returning it!
