Up to 300' Cable Runs for Your Guitar Without Signal Loss!

The Radial SGI Studio Guitar Interface System allows amazingly long cable runs for guitars (328') over a standard balanced XLR microphone cable. Using ruggedly constructed transmitter and receiver modules loaded with high-quality Class A active circuits, the SGI interface system lets you play on the largest stages or record from the studio control room. Drag control load correction and isolation transformers ensure great sound at long distances, without hum or buzz. If your studio or stage setup requires long cable runs, you need the easy-to-use, road-ready SGI system!

Quality components

The Radial SGI is made up of two modules: The SGI TX transmitter and the SGI RX receiver. These are connected using standard balanced twisted pair cable, thus enabling the SGI to be used in any studio or stage environment. Both are made from 14-gauge steel using Radial's unique I-Beam construction and protective book-end design. This ensures the Radial SGI will continue working for years even when tossed around in adverse conditions. A full-bottom rubberized pad has plenty of 'stay' while providing both mechanical and electrical isolation while providing a protective barrier.

The SGI-TX Transmitter Module

When using the SGI, the guitar connects to the SGI TX transmitter. This is a 100% discreet Class A active driver that employs the same front end and circuit topology found inside the popular Radial JD7 Injector. Class-A circuits retain the natural characteristics of the instrument by eliminating zero-cross distortion which in turn reduces harmonic distortion, inter-modulation distortion and phase shift. To counter any effect of the circuitry, the SGI is equipped with Drag Control, an innovative load correction circuit that reintroduces the natural relationship between the guitar and amplifier that would otherwise be lost. Power is supplied by a 15VDC external supply for added headroom over 9V systems. Both transmitter and receiver modules are equipped with isolation transformers to eliminate buzz and hum caused by ground loops.

The Radial SGI-RX Receiver Module

When in use, the amplifier is connected at the receive end using the SGI RX. This module is completely passive, thereby not requiring local power. The transformer receives the signal and is wired 'in reverse' to counteract any ringing that may be induced at the input side. It also eliminates ground loops, a common problem when connecting equipment using different electrical circuits.

Great guitar tool!

The guitar tracking room is up the stairs from the control room. This makes the signal super clear and punchy even at large distance. Don't cheap out and try to do a super long instrument cable. Get this.

Your Studio Just Got Bigger

I always manage to surprise people (even seasoned touring guys) with these boxes. The studio I work in is small, and we quickly run out of space when a full band is recording. But, I have access to some great spaces just down the hall. Those spaces aren't wired, but I can change that quickly with the SGIs (and Radial's CAT 5 snakes). With the amps raging at 11 in the empty auditorium 150 feet away, we can listen over the monitors in the studio with 99% perfect isolation. With he pedalboard in the studio and the combo down the hall, one touring guitarist said it was the best tone he's ever gotten out of his amp on a record—so you know the SGIs aren't hurting tone!

Don’t be dumb.

If you run an amp off stage don"t be a dummy and don"t try and be cheap.

I tried to do it the cheap way and it was not a very good experience. So after spending the money and getting this it was the best $... I"ve ever spent on a piece of gear.

Wow spelled backwards woW!

This system can be absolutely transparent if you need it to be. And yet it can effect the signal if that is what you need and want. Very powerful!! I have used it with the bass during recording instead of a DI box ,works great. Zero noise and influence on the signal. Have yet to try it with a marshall stack, that will happen this week. I expect it will work just the way Radial says it will. If not you will be the second to know. Every piece of Radial gear I have bought from Sweetwater has performed beyond my expectations. So has Sweetwater! Why would anyone shop anywhere else?
