An Extremely Transparent Compressor

The Xotic SP Compressor pedal can be found on the pedalboards of guitarists in all genres. Based on the iconic Ross compression circuit and favored for its transparency, the SP Compressor does a phenomenal job of evening out your dynamics while imparting harmonic sparkle. And the 3-position compression switch, variable blend control, and internal dip switches work in unison to shape your sound. The SP Compressor's tiny size has already made its way onto multiple Sweetwater guitarists' boards.

Xotic: Boutique pedals, preamps, and more

Xotic was born in a small garage in Southern California in 1996 and quickly became known for high-quality, boutique bass guitars and bass preamps. These days, they've expanded the pedal line, crafting stompboxes that are played by some of the finest guitarists in the business. Their acclaimed AC Booster, RC Booster, and BB Preamp pedals remain some of their most popular pedals.

Xotic SP Compressor Effects Pedal Features:
  • Mini compressor pedal
  • Based on the famed Ross compression circuit
  • Blend control adds the unaffected tone back in
  • Internal dip switches further dial in your tone
  • Settings for hi, mid, and lo compression settings
  • True bypass switching
The SP Compressor is quickly becoming a classic pedal.

Secret sauce!

DO NOT TELL ANYONE what a compression pedal can do for electric guitar! We wouldn't want such powerful knowledge to fall into the wrong hands!

Because we know that a top quality compressor pedal in the right spot in your pedalboard will unlock the inner hidden subtleties of an instrument's tone. If we want to really hear the individuality of each position on our pickup switch, if we really want to hear how the sound of one pickup or one combination of pickups can differ from the other settings, if we want the kind of fullness, body and sustain we get from overdriven tube amps at any volume without the noise and dirt, in other words if we want our guitars to sound their best and perform up to their true potential, a good properly adjusted compression pedal is the key, the secret ingredient. It brings out the wonderfulness locked deep in the heart of your guitar. So shshsh! Don't tell anybody!

I've had a number of compressor pedals. I won't set up to play without one. I've tried several brands and this is as good as any and better than most. The Tighty-Whitey, the old Dyna-Comp, the Keeley, a couple others... For one thing this one is simple- you don't need three knobs or four or five, the little switch works great and reduces the difficulty of dialing in the squeeze just right. For another thing, it's transparent and less noisy than some of the classic pedals, although it does seem to add a slight sweetness to whatever you put through it. Which is a good thing.

I had one of these on my acoustic pedal board, the one I'd use for mandolin, dobro etc and I have another on my main pedalboard for my Strats. They're "always on" pedals and I won't leave home without one.

Size doesn’t matter…

I brought one of these a couple years ago and it never ceases to amaze me. It took a bit of tweaking to find the sweet spot but I must admit, this is an outstanding compressor despite its size. Works great on acoustic guitar too. Fantastic!

Best compressor

It adds something to the sound and it's addictive. It doesn't color it, I don't know how to describe it but saying that it uplift your sound. Compression go be very hard to subtitle, I love that about it. Had mine for 3 years now and it's always on.
Go for it!
