Killer Percussion Sounds in a Compact Pad

Stick a Roland SPD-One Percussion pad anywhere in your kit, and get a full range of realistic percussion sounds. It's the perfect simple, sample-based percussion pad for expanding your electronic kit or adding electronic percussion to your acoustic drum set. All told, there are 22 sounds onboard the SPD-One Percussion, covering everything from snares and kicks to shakers, cymbals, and more. You can load up your own sounds, tune and tweak your tone, add delay or reverb, and mount this versatile pad anywhere you like.

Killer sounds you can tweak to perfection

The SPD-One Percussion drum pad comes loaded with a library of 22 realistic percussion sounds, adding a ton of options to your kit right out of the box. Want to use your own sounds? No problem! Just connect it to your computer via USB and drop in the WAV files you want to play. Once you've loaded up the samples you want to play, there are several onboard options that let you further customize your SPD-One Percussion's sound. For starters, you can tune your samples up or down to get them to fit in with the rest of your kit or to create cool special effects. Speaking of effects, built-in reverb and delay are also great ways to make the most of your drum sounds.

Integrates into any drum or percussion rig

Whether you play with your hands, sticks, mallets, or some other method, your Roland SPD-One Percussion drum pad is happy to oblige. In addition to setting the volume and effects, the sensitivity is totally adjustable. As for mounting, you can stick the SDP-One Percussion to any tom, cymbal, or mic stand you have on hand. Finally, there's no need to bother with extra cables (unless you feel like picking up an optional power supply), since the SPD-One Percussion drum pad runs efficiently on four AA batteries.

SPD-One: a new direction in virtual drums

Twenty years after launching the original V-Drum line, Roland is still at it, revolutionizing the world of virtual drums in exciting and creative new ways. The SPD-One combines the standalone modular approach of the traditional SPD series that drummers at Sweetwater already love in a format that lets you build the exact kit you have in mind. Want to add an electronic snare or tom? No problem. Replace your kick with a pad? Piece of cake. Build a full kit or just add the pieces you want; it's all up to you with Roland's SPD-One series.

Roland SPD One — great sounds…..but

It's really designed to be played by a drum stick strike and someone with hard sole shoes on.

If you play guitar in your socks so as to press various tiny little knobs on your pedalboard you won't be able to consistently actuate the SPD sounds — even if the sensitivity and threshold controls are maxed out.

A solution was to superglue a silver dollar to the sock worn on stage allowing much more control over the drum pad sounds.

Next problem is one can't connect multiple drum pads together — there is only a single output for the SPD unit and thus each must have its own 1/4" jack running to a mixer taking up more room on that board. In particular I'd considered running these multiple SPD units through a single looper (and then to the mixer). Unless there's a better way?

See photo of the wood frame built to hold my 3 units in place — allows one unit to the rear for heel strikes.

Sure would be much more versatile if there was a means of changing drum sounds on the fly without having to bend down and turn a knob.

Stroke me don’t beat me

I'm not a drummer by trade but by passion. I wanted certain percussion and this has it. I incorporate it into acoustic congas, bongos and other things you might percuss with. The timbale, gong, and tunable snare sounds are a very welcomed addition to my "kit". The reverb and delay are perfect and the pitch control makes it easy to be in the same key as the music you play with. Ideal for direct in recording and live performance it is worth every penny. It has good response and three levels of attack. Very sturdy and will mount on standard hardware. Some of the sounds are a bit cheesy, but you can eq this puppy into anything you like. I may buy another or two, a better deal than triggers or other multi pads. Get the power cord, you will want to play this beyond batteries.

Premium accessories right at your hand!!

This thing is out of control!!!
Really adds some depth of sounds, funky new rhythms, and a great platform to add a percussive feel to your music!!
I play in a reggae/hip hop band. From chimes to cowbell, conga and bongo, tuning and delay, there is so much sound to be manipulated.

I like then huge octopads, but this gets really personal with the sounds you can interact with. Cranking the tuning knob smacking some delay right back into a groovy fill is exactly he kind of spice I needed.

Thank you sweetwater for always having my back with the newest products available!!!!

Just OK

Have had many Roland products in the pass but feel this one could have had a better selection of usable sounds.that most drummers would typically require with todays music. Love the size and it fits nicely on my cowbell mount. I think Roland is moving in the right direction.

Simply put, modern electronic music wouldn't exist without Roland. Many of the electronic musicians here at Sweetwater cut our teeth on TR Rhythm machines and fondly remember programming our first TB-303s. We owe a good part of our careers to this amazing and innovative company. It's been fun to watch and grow right alongside Roland, as they've introduced wave after wave of revolutionary keyboards, digital pianos, and more. For example, Roland's V-Drum Kits continuously redefine the possibilities of electronic drums, beginning with SuperNATURAL technology to the latest Prismatic Sound Modeling. We're huge fans, and we'd love to tell you all about them. Whether you want a pocket-sized synth or a cutting-edge video mixer, if Roland makes it, then Sweetwater is 100% behind it.
