Perfect mic for the application

Swertwater is my go to for sound equipment; especially when the application is a little out of the ordinary. I contacted Jason, as always, and explained the problems with the application and the need for a mic with high rear rejection and a tight super cardiod pattern . He recommended the Sennheiser E 614. The rejection was exactly what was needed and the tight pattern solved the issues, allowing higher gain levels and better sound quality. Thank you again Jason and Sweetwater!

Awesome -- Perform Way Beyond Their Price Point

Finally got to work with one of a pair I bought for micing a classical and an acoustic for background ambience use. I used one for a banjo and an octave mandolin in a live setting. Amazing sound.

The mic output from placing it just the body side of where the neck meets the body sounds exactly like the instrument when you're six feet from the instrument.

Put a 16T limiter compressor on the banjo and the mando at 10:1, soft knee, and compressing peaks about 10db. Created a very natural sound without harsh attacks and good sustain. Very easy to mix this result with the rest of the band. At super-cardioid, they have less bleed and feedback issues.

An outcome beyond expectations at this price point. Thes

Amazing!

I just recently bought a Shure SM81 to record acoustics. I bought this mic because of the price drop and was extremely surprised that it sounds just as good as the SM81. I now use the SM81 and e614 as a pair and get an amazing acoustic sound. I highly recommend this microphone if you are miking an acoustic.
