Just what I needed

I've dragged a Hammond B-3 and a pair of 122 Leslies up until 10 years ago. I have various clonewheels, but the elusive "battery B-3" wasn't a reality until now. The Kong MicroKey Air 61 has saved my musical bacon in various ways. First, the ease of a Bluetooth connection eliminates a patch cord and allows me some freedom in keyboard placement without any noticeable latency. Next, it weighs next to nothing, so no schlep factor. Finally, the mini keys are vital to me. The years have not been kind regarding arthritis in my hands. On my Hammond an octave stretch is painful, but on this a 10th is easily attainable. I can now play using my traditional fingering without pain. No downsides regarding this purchase.

Brilliant, Amazing, and Excellent.

I love this keyboard so much. It is incredibly useful and I keep buying keyboards from Sweetwater because each one is even better than the last. Thank you so much Sweetwater for creating these amazing midi keyboards for us all to use! I recommend 100%!

Great but beware iPad’s and IOS 13

The only compact 61 note Bluetooth keyboard controller out there, and it’s a joy to be able to just grab the lightweight little (slim) guy anytime and pair it with my iPad for laying down chords or riffs that are impossible on iPads virtual synths keyboards. The action is a bit mushy .. but workable. The latency via Bluetooth though not like a wired midi board is very doable .. even for soloing. The only issue is as I write this in late October 2013 it will not pair with iPads running any version of IOS 13. I like this board enough that I refuse to upgrade to IOS 13 until this is either fixed .. or Korg makes a new version that will pair with IOS 13. If your

You could have only dreamed about this 20 years ago.

Imagine if someone told you all you needed to 'perform' was a wireless keyboard - and a smartphone (or tablet) for your sound source - and have it actually sound 'professional' (not 'like a Casio"). Well, that time is here - and this keyboard, particularly the 61-key version, let's you actually sound 'legit', however you might look like an amateur!

Throwing ego out the door, I bought this so I could 'noodle', get this, at work - during my down time - in my office at work (I'm a video editor, btw). For YEARS I was looking for a 'near-full' keyboard that was smaller than my 88-key controller - which was obnoxiously huge - and would be easily able to slip away from my console desk.

The keyboard is, well, Korg.Out of the box, it looks like a melodica on steroids without any blowhole - and the keys play like one. If you got big mitts for hands like me, you may feel ham-handed playing this - especially if you play 'close voicings' that require finger dexterity. Like driving a VW bug after a Lincoln Continental, it is small. Your playing will require you learn 'compact' skills - but...

I warn you... You will LOVE this controller if you use if for actually performing as if it were a piano. Performing wide chords like tenths are effortless - and you will find you can do miraculous voicings - because you can REACH them, whereas on a 'regular' piano keyboard, the width of the keys make it impossible. That said, be sure to regularly play your 'standard-sized' keyboards often after a few sessions with this mini-controller so your fingers (and your brain) can re-adjust for the size difference.

PLEASE NOTE: I am using this with an Android (Google Pixel 3XL) phone - via USB. You need to buy (e-bay) a OTG USB-C cable with a 'USB hub' splitter. One USB goes to the controller - the other goes to the DAC dongle for HI-Q audio output. Android WILL recognize the bluetooth - but if you use older software, like iGrand for Android, you will find most of the software, as of Spring 2019, do not offer support for BluetoothMIDI - yet.

Only issue I'm having is my current sustain pedal used in the 'assignable jack' works with some apps, but does not offer sustain in iGrand.... Hmmm.
