Dimensional Chorus Is Back!

The one and only Dimensional Chorus effect is back, in the BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Waza Pedal. Loaded with premium analog circuitry, the DC-2W not only nails the sound of the original DC-2 Dimension C pedal — it also offers a spot-on re-creation of the original SDD-320 Dimension D rack effects processor that started it all. The retro-style preset buttons also offer access to different variations on the effect, for a total of 20 different sounds. Complete with stereo I/O, the BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Waza Pedal is a great choice for guitar and bass, keyboards, and even studio mixing sessions.

Waza Craft: a higher art of stompbox design

The Japanese word “waza” means art and technique, an appropriate name for BOSS’s premium line of redesigned guitar effects pedals. You see, the pedal collectors here at Sweetwater have seen more than enough special-edition stompboxes that are only a paint job away from the originals, which is why we’re so blown away by what BOSS has done with the Waza Craft series. Even in their Standard modes, Waza Craft pedals sound like idealized versions of the originals, offering the same sonic character that made them iconic, but with less noise and more consistent tone. And when you A/B the Standard mode and the Custom mod, the contrast is nothing short of astonishing.

BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Waza Pedal Features:

  • A special edition of the classic Dimension C chorus pedal
  • All-analog circuitry
  • Standard mode provides the sound of the original Dimension C
  • SDD-320 mode is a spot-on re-creation of the SDD-320 Dimension D rack processor
  • Classic 4-button preset interface gives you access to a total of 20 sound variations
  • Mono/Stereo I/O is ready for everything from guitar and bass to keyboards and even studio mixing

Whatever it does, it’s cool!

This pedal is a different kind of pedal, not really just a chorus, but it adds a beautiful chorus vibrato type of shine to your guitar or bass tone. Whatever it is, it's cool! It's on Mason Marangella's pedalboard too, so it must be good! There's no tweaking, but their are 20 combinations that should fill the bill. It sounds great on single coils, clean or dirty. 3 Reasons to Love the Boss DC-2W Waza Craft Dimension C Chorus Pedal

The Boss DC-2W Waza Craft Dimension C Chorus Pedal is by far one of my favorite effects pedals. I love the simplicity of just four buttons and the chorus tones it produces are heavenly! I purchased this beautiful little stomp box for three reasons:

1. I love Boss pedals! They are well built, and they look and sound great!
2. I wanted to get the Prince chorus tones of the 80's and beyond.
3. It is purple which is one of my favorite colors.

I nicknamed it, my "Prince" pedal. Just hit button #4 and play "Purple Rain" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Perfect sound, simple controls, none of the chorus warble

The DC-2 is THE best chorus out there. No fiddling with knobs. And best of all, no warbling effect with the LFO (which is the key to the dimension sound).

I just want to add that all choruses sound phenomenal with a compressor in front. I'm currently rocking the EQD Warden in front of the DC-2.

Possibly the perfect chorus

If you don't like chorus as an effect, I get it. It's really easily to let it get warbly and seasick. And many can have uncontrollable high overtones which make the warbles ice-picky. Enter the Dimension C. Not a plethora of adjustments to be made, but the push button simplicity of the presets and ability to combine multiple yield more than enough usable options, and the width of the stereo image is amazing. Found this one as a demo which ch saved me about $, so it was an absolute no-brainer. It's well worth checking out, and bumped the only other chorus I've made room for, a DOD Ice Box, off, and that took some doing. The Waza Craft quality just puts the stamp on it. I doubt this unit could disappoint you, even if you dislike chorus effects in general.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Simon Whitehouse

I'm primary a bass player so when I use effect I don't want it to reduce my low end, and I want it to help add something to the rhythm of the song. The DC-2w succeeds where many other pedals have failed me. No only does this sound phenomenal on bass, it's literally an "always on" effect for me. I use it in a subtle way (usually on mode 2) to help fill in my rhythm parts. The rest of the band has noticed this in the best way possible. Many of them couldn't quite pick out what I was doing to get "that sound." And they were astonished that I was using a chorus the whole time. Whether you're a fan or chorus or not, it's worth giving a try. Mine is not leaving my board.
