Chrome 2-tier Keyboard/Controller Stand by Gibraltar

The Gibraltar Key Tree has more in common with today's drum racks than it does traditional 2-tier keyboard stands. Its modular chrome legs and cross bars offer maximum portability — in minutes, the Key Tree breaks down into a half-size drum hardware bag (sold separately) and sets up just as fast. Meanwhile, memory locks allow for precise positioning every time you set up. If you've had issues with stage stands rocking and wobbling as you play, Sweetwater recommends checking out the Gibraltar Key Tree 2-tier keyboard/controller stand. Fits most keyboard instruments 76 keys and smaller.

Gibraltar GKS-KT76 Key Tree 2-tier Keyboard Stand Features:

  • Chrome 2-tier keyboard stand
  • Fits most pianos, organs, and controllers 76 keys and smaller
  • Sleek, stylish design
  • Very stable
  • Breaks down into a hardware bag (not included)
  • Memory locks permit precise positionability
  • 1st tier is adjustable from 35–44" tall

Fantastic

Rock solid, high quality, looks great. It's adjustable in all the right places. My two synthesizers weigh 40+ pounds combined and this stand does em justice. Awesome.

Front vs Back, and some comments...

I bought one of these a few months ago, love it. Now being "experienced", I offer a some info, FWIW...

This stand info & videos were put together by a drummer oriented company; hence, for a drummer, "front" is the side facing the audience. For the keyboard player, "front" is the side facing the keys player. All the info from Gibraltar should be translated this way, even the picture above^^^. Those drummers are different! : )

The front support does obstruct the pedals some; this is can be overcome. I usually just use 1 pedal, so instead of centering this 20" bar, I slid it 10" to the left as Gibraltar recommends. I then put my one pedal in the open space with no problem. I did a major stand shake test to see if the balance got worse, and it didn't, and I use a heavier 73 key board on the top than the one on the bottom, too. I thought this would be fake news, but Gib. was correct; it didn't make any noticeable difference in stability. If you just use 2 single pedals, center this bar and turn the 2 pedals sideways against the bar; the pedals don't know.

You can get the board as tight as you want and get the top board as far forward as you want to with a little creative thinking.
Last point is that I designed a cool mike stand made from a Gib. curved tube which goes behind the curved upper board support. Looks custom. Will cost you... but is worth it. Besides, who's counting $ after buying this stand anyway?

I'm so glad Sweetwater picked up this item; I had a horrible time trying to get any info from Gibraltar directly. Still waiting on a normal paper catalogue. Being an old guy I know how to sift through a regular catalogue probably 10 times faster than scrolling on a screen.

Feedback so far: I can't believe how much people love it! Biggest compliments are from other drummers.
Music background: Old guy who like chrome; yes I restore classic cars.
