Great Interface!

I had the Scarlett solo 2i2 third generation for about 2 years and wanted a new interface. The first thing I noticed was the hiss from my Adam Audio T5V's actually turned down a whole lot! Not only that but the package it comes with is amazing! Definitely worth the price, unfortunately, if you have a midi that requires a voltage higher than 5 you cannot connect it to the usb hub on the back. If you want to connect a MIDI keyboard like my qx49 then I would recommend getting the minifuse 2 or 4. Overall this is a great interface!

Great Alternative to the Focusrite

Great interface. My Scarlet died after a long, long time and wanted something different. Did some research and the pass through USB, as well as the extra software bundled in with the Minifuse sold me. Out of the box it connected immediately, and sounded great. If you go online there is a Minifuse control panel you can get for free from Arturia's website that is necessary for smooth operation and adjusting sample rate, but that information is never given, I had to look it up. All in all I'm extremely satisfied with this interface and it definitely looks better on my desk than my Scarlet. Also arrived quickly and Sweetwater has incredible customer service.

Let down by preamp

For what I wanted, this is overall a great device, but I'm disappointed with the mic quality.

Features: Perfect for me. Wanted an extremely compact single input device. Has buttons/knobs for each function (instead of some multi-function knob or a screen), which I like. Has phantom power. Is USB-C and bus powered. On top of that, has a USB port on the back to pass through another device, which is unique as far as I know and extremely useful if you're on say a MacBook Air with just 2 ports. And it's fully class compliant (at least on mac) with no external drivers. Has performed flawlessly for me.

Output quality: Excellent. In truth I don't think there's been a device in the last 10 years that doesn't sound very good, even at this price point.

Input quality: Unfortunately the mic pre is the whole reason I bought it, and it's not quite good enough. In the past I've had a little higher quality gear but I was hoping I could get the same quality at a lower price point between this and a new Blue Ember. Immediately upon testing, I was a little disappointed with the sound. I was assuming it was the (very inexpensive) mic but I compared against a friend's Focusrite Saffire 6 and the difference is clear. With the Ember, the Focusrite sounds solid, clean and detailed. The Minifuse sounds a little airy and slightly grainy. If the Minifuse had sounded fine but I decided to A/B anyway and only then noticed a difference I would probably put this at 4 stars, but the fact that it immediately, without comparison, sounded off, means I'm going to replace it.

In fairness, I don't think this is a bad device. If everything else was 4x the price I would use it and be happy, but there is a lot of great equipment in this price range. It's also fair to say it is more about imparting character than not sounding good, and I can imagine a lot of people might like the sound, feeling like it gives maybe a little grit and warmth. But for my money, the Focusrite is better (along with Mackie's Onyx pres, and Presonus' L-MAX pres).
