The 2i2 3rd Gen first appeared on our recommended list in our December 2019 Edition of The Best Cheap Audio Interfaces where is was the second highest rated audio interface under $200 – the now discontinued Audient ID4 was the highest rated at that time.
Then in our October 2020 Edition it became the highest rated option under $200 and since that time no other audio interface has out ranked it – the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen has been tied with it as the Equal Highest Rated since September 2021.
Note that with the right adapters, this can be a very capable iPad USB Audio interface.
