Gearank High Notes

The Phenyx Pro PTU-500A is an affordable 4-channel wireless microphone system with a fixed frequency configuration. This means that setting up is a breeze, but you're limited to specific UHF frequencies and cannot switch when encountering noise.

This should not be an issue for small scale events with just one or two wireless systems, but it can be an issue for those working with bigger projects that require multiple wireless systems.

The included mics run for up to 16 hours, and each one has an LCD screen that lets you know when to replace the battery.

It has a max range of 260 ft, which is quite a lot given the price.

Finally, the receiver comes in a metal rack-mountable form-factor.

Feature Overview

Speaking of setup, this system receives plenty of thumbs up for its ease of use, especially for small events where you're not dealing with multiple wireless systems.

Cons
While many people report that the metal rackmount receiver feels solid, some caution that the mics feel flimsy. The system's easy setup fixed-frequency design is also problematic for those who have to work with multiple wireless systems.
